Elizabeth Short - Progress Report - October 18, 2018

Wow! Has it already been a week?! Time flies when you're bashing your head against the wall as you lip-sync 5 minutes' worth of non-dialogue vocalizations!

But, it's done! All 5 minutes of the sex scene are fully lip-synced now. That's been the goal for this week, and it's really the biggest hurdle that has been facing me since I got the audio for the project.

With that out of the way, all that's left is finishing up the animation for the non-sex scene, and then detailing and choreographing everything. I've got touches of scenebuild to finish, and a technical challenge to overcome with sneaking the crowd in without SFM crashing, but I don't expect any of that to pose a major challenge.

All of that being said, I do want to remind everyone that this is really old animation! Virtually all of the core motion in this short was done back in December 2017. All I'm doing now is polishing it all up - I'm not going to take the time to reanimate everything. So if things look a bit worse for wear compared to my later efforts, that's why.

With that in mind, here's what all is left for me to do on the short:

• Finish animating the non-sex scene (it's blocked out right now; it needs an emotive pass)
• Detail-animate both the non-sex and the sex scene
• Polish lighting and scenebuilding
• Render
• Post-Process & Sound Design
• Post!

As you can tell, we're getting pretty close to the end now. Here are my plans till the end of the month. Hopefully everything stays on course!

• Have the sex scene detailed by Monday evening (October 22).
• Have the non-sex scene animated and detailed by Wednesday evening (October 24).
• Have the lighting and scenebuild polished by Thursday evening (October 25).
• Have the choreography finished by Friday evening (October 26).
• Render overnight from Friday evening to Saturday morning (October 27).
• (Weekly Saturday stream on October 27)
• Get PP and sound design done by Tuesday evening (October 30)
• Post to Patreon on October 31!

It's gonna be a close race. Let's hope for the best!
