Public Monthly Report - July 1, 2018

Hello, everyone!

So, you may have noticed that I didn't post a Progress Report this past Thursday. That's because I decided I might as well wait until July 1, and make it a public monthly report.

That being said, let's just get down to it.

June in Review

Let's take a look at the list of things I wanted to get done in June, and see where things fall into place:

• Leliana Short: Done! It took a bit longer than I expected, ending up taking almost exactly 3 weeks when I was hoping for 2. But hey, I managed to release it on my birthday! That's always impressive!
  
• Femshep Micro: So this one is a bit unfortunate. I had about a minute of animation fully blocked out for it, but came across an animation that I just could not get right. And unfortunately, the entire thing sort of fell apart without that animation.
  
  So, I wrote an entirely new Femshep micro! It's been greenlit by the voice actress for Femshep, and Innie has offered her beautiful voice services to it (more on that later!). All of the poses have been blocked out, as you can see above (or on Tumblr, if reading from Patreon), and I am pretty confident that it will work out fine in the end.
  
  I am in the middle of revising the script to adhere to the changes made to the poses, which is why I haven't posted it yet. The actual script itself is final, but the descriptions in the text file don't match the poses made, so yeah. It's basically just a technical / formal delay.
  
• BAS Liz Micro: Has also been written out! Sort of. I have a concrete idea of where I want it to go. The details are eluding me, though. I've rewritten it 3 different times, and every time, the ending just falls apart.
  
  None of this affects the actual content of the micro, though! It's all just narrative stuff. I'm sure I'll get it soon enough. Once I do, I will post it.
  
  All I will say for now is that, as always, it involves a man, a city, and a l̶i̶g̶h̶t̶h̶o̶u̶s̶e̶ assertive BAS Liz with a fetish for being sexually submissive.
  
• Liz Video: I wasn't expecting any progress to be made on this, as I detail in the list, but as always, Innie defied and surpassed my expectations! She actually managed to get me all of the audio for the Liz video! I just need to actually put it all together.

Okay, so things are actually looking pretty good! What else happened in June? Well, let's find out!

• Innie is getting better! You all may or may not be aware of the post she made about her health issues.  Those issues were a major factor into why both Blue Star Episode 3 and the Liz video's production has stagnated - videos can't progress very far when the star actress is down for the count.
  
  But luckily, June has been a month of healing! Her recovery has been slow but steady, and when it comes to health, steady is probably the best possible outcome. She has recently sat down and burnt through several minutes of dub audio (multiple takes of multiple minutes of raw footage really adds up) for the Elizabeth video, on top of spending efforts earlier in the month getting the rest of the audio for it.
  
  As far as I know, that concludes all of the recording needed from her for the Elizabeth video.
  
  BUT THAT'S NOT ALL! Not only is Innie working on also getting the 18ish-minute behemoth of a dub that is Blue Star Episode 3 all recorded, but she is also returning her focus on both her music and her writing , which is a sure sign of her strength returning in spades.
  
  I want to thank all of you for the love and support you beamed to her, either explicitly or mentally.
  
• The back half of the year has been more or less cemented in terms of shorts. So June was supposed to be a Tina sequel, but I instead took June to focus on catching up from the calamity that was my schedule getting trainwrecked due to others' schedules getting clobbered (Milly's schedule getting knocked out during Leliana recording, and the Innie's health problems).
  
  In the end, this was ultimately for the best, though. A new Tina "sequel" has been planned and is slated for December currently. I say "sequel" in quotes because, while it is related to the first Tina short, it doesn't actually involve Tina at all.
  
  You may recall that the Tina short ended with Lisa entering the picture. Well, the next short in that series (and yes, it is a series - the Tina short was a pilot episode, and it was exceptionally well received) is focusing purely on Lisa.
  
  The third episode in that series will pick up after the first episode, with the two being together for all sorts of naughty antics.
  
  Beyond the Tina short, I have also put entirely too much effort and preproduction into August's short, which I am trying to keep under wraps until pretty much its release. If you don't know what it is, you'll see why when you learn what it is. And if you do know what it is, then you probably understand why I want to keep it on the down-low.
  
  And then the plan of October's short being Phazon Experiment B, which has been in shade for the past few months due to Innie's unstable health, is looking to be pretty solid. Things can still change, but as it is right now, I am anticipating it to be the case.
  
• 2019's shorts have started being planned out! I don't have many figured out concretely, and I'm not going to publish information on any of them until the end of the year approaches. But know that plans are in the works for 2019. The Aardvark train has no plans of stopping any time soon, for better or for worse.
  
• Fallen Throne has finally continued production (slowly). Yes, my original series is not forgotten. In fact, far from - rarely a day goes by without me writing down some new notes for it. I just haven't had the time to formally sit down and write everything up for it (and in fact, I still don't have the time.)
  
  But with the conclusion of the DOAFantasy model-stream series,  I have diverted those biweekly stream resources to Fallen Throne, to finally begin producing some content for it.
  
  Hopefully I will find time to formally flesh everything out. But one step at a time.
  

Plans for July

So what are the plans for July, then? Put simply, more of the same. I am going to tackle things in the following order:

• Femshep Micro. This is intentionally written to be really straightforward for me to put together. It's just a voice showcase, with some animation to top it off. I hope this will only take a week.
  
• Elizabeth Video. As it now approaches 6 months overdue, I finally have all of the audio for it, as described above. So I just want to finish it and push it out and be done with it.
  
• Blue Star Episode 3. Once the Elizabeth video is out, this is where my attention is going. I will hopefully have all of the audio for it by then, so I will finally be able to stop sitting on my hands, and continue production on it. I can't overstate how happy I will be to finally make progress on it again. I think you guys and gals are going to really enjoy it, and it hurts that it's not in a state that I can share it with you all. (Cuz trust me, you don't want to see it in its current state; it'd really ruin the magic, without Innie's beautiful voice).

You might notice that the BAS Liz micro isn't anywhere on that list. And that's for good reason. While I intend to try and polish up the script and publish it, I don't know when I will tackle the animation itself.

Innie bringing in all of her audio so quickly has caused a bit of an unexpected convergence; the BAS Liz micro was written as a contingency, in the event I won't have anything else to work on. That appears to not be the case.

I suspect the BAS Liz micro will be shelved indefinitely, until such a point as I don't have anything else to work on. Then it will be dusted off and put into production.

As to releases for July, I wouldn't hold your breath for anything other than the Femshep micro. 

Even if the Liz video has most of its bulk animation done, it's still a roughly-8-minute project. That's still a lot of post-audio work to do - Leliana's took about 10 or so days to do all of the post-audio work (which was longer than I expected, because I apparently didn't fully detail-animate the non-sex scene, which I thought I did). Unlike Leliana, I know I didn't detail-animate the non-sex scene for Elizabeth - because I didn't have all the audio for it! So I have a whole bunch of core animation, waiting to be filled out with audio and then detailed out. It's gonna take a few weeks.

And then Blue Star... Even if I spent the entire month working on it, it wouldn't get done. That's just not realistic. Thankfully all of the non-sex is done (and 1080p rendered), but with an 18ish-minute sex scene... That's a lot of lip-syncing and detailing. It's just gonna take a while.

I will also being taking a 2-week vacation in July, starting on July 9.

So yeah. That's gonna fuck the whole month in terms of productivity. Might not even get the Femshep micro done, though I don't think it'll be that severe.

Despite how things may seem, I do actually have social and familial connections. Sometimes I have to give those connections attention. In this case, it's a 2-week vacation with my family. They were pretty bummed that we didn't do anything for my birthday (I was too busy getting the Leliana short ready for you guys to enjoy), and so they wanted to make it up as early as possible. I couldn't really justify pushing it any later than July 9.

So yeah. That's where things were, where things are, and where things are going.
