The Incubus System Chapter 1171. Under Review

The Incubus System Chapter 1171. Under Review

“That’s normal,” she said, smirking.

“Is it?” I gave her a look.

She raised a brow like yes, obviously.

I stared at her for a moment longer, then said, “Alright then… since you know I’m the great demon, all-powerful, formerly mysterious, bla bla bla—”

She rolled her eyes. “Oh god.”

“—what if you moved in to my house?”

That stopped her. “What?”

“Seriously. Mrs. Clea lives next door,” I added. “So you can still report back to your scary boss lady without problems if you need it.”

Tiffany let out a small chuckle. “That sounds nice. Convenient. Cozy, even.” Her voice dipped into something soft, almost teasing.

“But…”

“But no,” she said.

I blinked. “No?”

She shook her head. “I can’t. I’m still a demon hunter. If I suddenly move out, the organization has to confirm that my roommates are also licensed demon hunters or… at least not a literal demon.”

I stared. “I’m not just a demon. I’m the great demon.”

“That doesn’t help your case, Ethan.”

“Tch.”

“Unless we were living as family,” she added thoughtfully. “You and me. Like actual family members. The organization might overlook it in that case. But we both know…” She trailed off and gave me a look.

I exhaled and rubbed a hand through my hair. “So you’re saying because they used that vaccine on me, I’m still on their radar.”

“Yeah.” Tiffany nodded. “They still need to investigate you—properly. You’re still under review now. And if I move in with you like it’s nothing, it’ll drag both of you and Celia into the spotlight again. The higher-ups will start asking questions they’ve been keeping on pause.”

“Perfect,” I muttered. “Just what I needed. More attention.”

“I know it sucks,” she said gently, “but they’re still the kind of people who look twice at everything. Especially when their most powerful prototype vaccine didn’t harm or affect you at all.”

“So even if I wanted to make it official—have you living with me—it’s just gonna make things worse?”

“For now? Yeah,” she said softly. “We both bring heat. And if we’re under the same roof? That heat doubles.”

“So… I’m stuck in some weird crossfire of being protected and monitored?”

“Kinda,” Tiffany said, nudging my side gently. “I’m also under watch. I bring you trouble, and you bring me trouble. It’s a two-way street, demon lord.”

I groaned, dramatically flopping back onto the pillow. “Great. So it’s a no-no.”

“It’s a no,” she confirmed, voice full of amusement.

I sighed. “Fine.”

She leaned up a little and kissed the edge of my jaw, like a quiet apology for rejecting me. But I could feel her smile against my skin.

A few seconds passed, just the gentle brush of our bodies in the dark.

Then I whispered, “I should probably go home now.”

“You heard about Celia, right?” I added.

Tiffany nodded. “I did. Sounds like her. You should go.”

“I will,” I said, though I made no effort to actually move. Then I turned my head slightly, eyes narrowing in her direction. “But before that…”

She looked at me. “Before what?”

I grinned slowly. “I need to make a contract with you.”

Her brow lifted. “A contract?”

“Mm-hmm.”

“What kind of contract?”

I let the moment drag, made sure she saw it coming, then said in a low voice, “One that makes you mine. Forever.”

Tiffany stared at me for a beat, wide-eyed.

Then she smacked my chest with a laugh. “You are such a menace.”

“Not denying it.”

“Forever, huh?” she teased.

I rolled over so I was halfway on top of her again, hand trailing along her waist as I leaned in closer. “Forever,” I repeated, lips brushing her ear. “No more halfway. No more what-ifs. Just… mine.”

She looked at me with those dark, searching eyes. And I could tell. I could feel it. That conflict, that hesitation. But also—underneath it—trust.

She didn’t answer right away.

But she didn’t pull away either.

“I don’t know what forever looks like,” she said softly.

I kissed her neck. “Then let me show you.”

“You’re really asking a demon hunter to make a bond contract with a demon lord,” she whispered, half-laughing.

“Not just any demon lord. Me.”

She sighed, half-annoyed, half-surrendering. “You’re impossible.”

“I’m yours,” I whispered against her skin.

And she didn’t deny that either.

That was all the permission I needed.

“Great,” I murmured, voice low and charged. “Let’s begin.”

[Demonic form activated]

I pulled back just enough to sit up on the edge of the bed, the sheet slipping off my torso. My hand hovered midair, fingers flexing. I closed my eyes, let the familiar pulse of dark energy stir beneath my skin, crawling up my spine like smoke. The hum started in my chest—low, rhythmic, like a second heartbeat—and then I let it out.

A quiet flash. A flicker of crimson light.

My body shifted.

Bones stretched. Muscles reshaped. My skin ran hot for a moment. My horns curled out first. My wings unfolded next—thick, leathery, wide enough to cast a shadow across the entire wall even in the low light. My tail whipped once behind me, like it had been waiting to stretch. My form—taller, broader, sharper—settled into something otherworldly.

My reflection in the dark window across the room? That wasn’t Ethan.

That was Damian.

Taller. Handsomer. Eyes glowing faintly crimson.

I looked over my shoulder.

Tiffany was staring. Hard.

Her eyes wide. Her lips parted slightly. Her breath caught in her throat like she forgot how to breathe for a second.

I couldn’t help but grin. “Don’t be afraid.”

Her gaze flicked up to mine. She didn’t blink.

“This is just my other form,” I said, slowly turning toward her fully, wings folding behind me. “The one I’ve never really shown you… up close.”

Her voice came out barely above a whisper. “Holy shit.”

“First time you’ve seen me like this, right?” I stepped toward her, the room quiet except for the soft thump of my bare footsteps against the floor.

She nodded dumbly. “You look…”

“Different?” I tilted my head. “Better?”

“Way better,” she admitted.

“Good,” I smirked, holding out my hand. My hand had extended and I kept the touch gentle. “Now let’s settle the contract.”
