I'm here to start the react journey but a heads up. I will be skipping episodes. TBC this is NOT against Joey. I just didn't care about many of the episodes in the show. And feel 0 reason to rewatch them.

2022-08-12 18:20:27 +0000 UTCI know I'm late, but here's a bit of an explanation of Izuku's nickname "Deku". As Kacchan (which is a nickname for Katsuki Bakugo) said this episode, you can read the last part of Izuku's name as "Deku" when it's written in kanji. (Kanji can be read multiple ways and make entirely different words when read differently.) The word "dekunobou" in Japanese means "someone who can't do anything". Bakugo was abbreviating the word. When Ochaco Uraraka (Deku's partner during this episode's fight) first hears Deku's nickname, she tells him in Japanese that gives off a feeling of "I can do it". (This had to be changed in the dub so it'd make sense, unfortunately.) She was saying it sounded like the word "dekiru", which means something like "someone who can do anything".

2022-07-23 04:20:55 +0000 UTCSo a lot of times people have said “why is Bakugou screaming all the time” on top of his anger, there is a theory that he’s gone a little deaf due to his loud explosions that he has a talk louder/scream to hear himself better. It’s not confirmed but I thought that that’d make sense.
