overtime i'm more and more unhappy with how objectively bad the mixing is in my music and i think that it keeps the majority of people from being able to appreciate the songs. it doesnt necesarily sound amazing or clean now but at least you can actually (kinda) hear the notes that are performed, and i prefer that the compositions and the performances that i'm proud of aren't lost in incomprehensible noise. this album in particular was extremely muffled before

The mix of the original version never bothered me, however I fully understand/respect you wanting to improve on it. In case it isn’t too much to ask of you, Damian, I think you should offer both versions (on Bandcamp for instance) so that people may decide for themselves which one is their favorite. I know I’d buy both of them. Just call the newer version ”Remaster” or so.
