OGZ: Progress Report 12/25/2023

Hey guys, how are you guys doing?

Actually, today is my birthday and so I bought myself a motion capture suit as a gift and now I can raise the potential of OGZ animations to AAA quality. This last 2 weeks I've been busy working on the new mutant models and also setting up the mocap stuff. Lets take a look at what I've been working on.

Models

I spent 5 days working on each model and these are just high poly models btw, not game ready models.
Here are the names of these Walkers (first image from the left)
1. Armored Gooner, 2. Gooner, 3. Tanker, 4. Purker, 5. Brute or Corpses Absorbed Walker.

Theses 5 new mutants are still Walker type, so they will still look similar.

There will be maybe 10 more models for walker btw but I'll work on those later.

3 different types are coming soon (Parasite, Insect and Slug. Note that all these new enemies are mutated by parasites and they all are shared the same goals)

Parasites were firstly designed to be used on the battlefield but it's now one of the restricted weapons because of its effect and capability. The danger of parasite weapons are at the same level of Nuclear weapon which would turn the battlefield or 'outbreak' areas into 'ground zeroes'.

Animations
I've updated CSS (Custom Scene System) to be easier to use, now CSS supports different body types. This is the result of the updated CSS. Still WIP.
The current CSS requires 2.5-5 times lower amount of animations to create a scene, the previous version of CSS required at least 50 animations to create just only 1 scene. CSS is still in WIP phase, so I may need to work on this a bit more and it'll be finally ready for the actual game usage.

Now that I have mocap and I will rework all the movement/combat animation of walker to be much more realistic and aggressive. Right now I really don't have enough space to do mocap, especially combat/walk/run animation, maybe I should turn my room into a mocap studio at some point next year lol. But hey, you guys can expect the even higher game animation quality for OGZ.

Gesture system.
I got the inspiration from Dark Souls/Elden Ring about this system. Even tho OGZ is a single player game but it'll have a vibe of an online game and it's gonna be more than a gesture for role playing but players will be able to communicate with npcs by gestures too.

If I have higher budget, I'd buy the sound and music tools for OGZ too.
I also need to remove all the smutt draw from google drive btw because google forced me to do so, i'm sorry if you guys pledged for my drawing too.
