May recap & E3 2016

Hey friends!!

Just wanted to give you a recap of the previous month and let you know my E3 plans.  More importantly, I want to thank you guys for the continued support.  Daily, the entire trophy community reminds why I love doing this. The above image will be featured at the end of every video I make in the month of June.

The month of May was an interesting month. As we all know, Uncharted 4 released on the 10th.  I was able to get the game on the 3rd (which was also my 40th birthday) and have 25 videos recorded, edited and uploaded to YouTube for the release date.  What you guys may not know is that I literally worked on all those videos for 18 hours a day, a total of 126 hours during that one week. There was a large consumption of coffee during that time. I'm not sure how I didn't single handily cause a worldwide coffee shortage.  I'm certainly not complaining because I love doing this and all the trophy hunters around the world drive me to make the best content but if you want to make trophy guides for a living, that's the type of effort that is required.

So what does one do after a very exhausting week? Normally someone will take a few days off to recover, but for me, it was to start Doom that released just 3 days later. I'll be honest, I certainly didn't cover Doom has thoroughly as I would normally. I had intended to do a full collectible guide for the game but I had some technical issues with some corrupted files that caused a great number of my recordings to become garbage. Normally I would just a new game and do it again but I didn't have it in me to do it this time. I blame Nathan Drake. Part of that decision was made in part that you can get all collectibles to appear on your map. In the end, I regret not going back and doing it proper. I definitely feel I let some people down.

The final highlight of the month was a Patreon exclusive Uncharted 4 multiplayer game night. I want to thank those who participated and I intend to play much more with you guys.  As you can see, it can be tough to find time, but I will make a greater effort to do so whenever possible. The final week of the month I did something I had never done before...took a break.

So looking ahead in June, we have Mirror's Edge Catalyst but the biggest event is E3 which takes place June 14-16. I will be there and will be attending some special events and capturing footage for games such as......well, I probably can't say just yet. I'm really looking forward to meeting up with some of my YouTube and industry friends while there and will be aggressively pushing these developers to make some fun trophies instead of some of the garbage ones I've been seeing over and over of late.

And finally, a couple of you were selected to receive a $10 PSN gift card so congrats to Cody Mahoney and Jason Skewes. Check your messages inbox.

Hope you all enjoy the summer and good luck on your trophy hunts
