Update post and Patreon changes

Today we wanted to let everyone know about an important piece of news, plus update you on our progress.

Some of you may already know that Patreon has changed its rules regarding adult content in ways that reduce clarity, resulting in many pages being temporarily taken down. We did our best to comply with the new rules when we heard about them and we have not been affected so far, but this will require some changes in the future.

For a quick summary on the subject you can read here:

Most likely, we will no longer be able to post links to our games in public posts. Patron updates will be sent out via messages and public updates with links will be found on our blog. If Patreon changes the rules again in the future and our page is taken down, the blog will also be the place to check for news on the situation:

Though the ambiguous new rules have many concerned, this is probably not the place to react to the changes. We just wanted to let you know that we're aware of the situation and we will be doing everything we can to make sure we can continue creating our games. If you want to stay on top of things, feel free to follow our blog or join our Discord.

In other news, we are currently splitting our attentions between working on 0.4.0 and finishing the special non-canon scene variants for $25+ tiers. The latter is not a trivial add-on: it involves a large amount of entirely new art and writing. We're glad that people have enjoyed them so much so far, but we just want to be clear that we spend some time on these and so we don't turn immediately from the public release to putting 100% of our effort into the next version.

Please look forward to the new scenes and art packs next, and after that previews of the content for the next version of KoD!

When update post?

Dimitri

This is a boring answer, but it's the truth: there are advantages and disadvantages to both. RPG Maker is a better framework if you want a game to focus on combat, while Ren'py provides more options for customization and accessibility.

Wanted to ask for a while, from your personal a dev point of views do you prefer rpgmaker or ren'py?
