Here are some storylines about how Carmen lost her legs.
Scene One: A cargo train rumbles through a rural industrial landscape at sunset. A group of teens, dressed are running and leaping across the tops of the moving cars playing stunt. Among them a pretty girl in blue jeans shots, wearing a pair of sneakers confident and focused, she is just as fast, skilled, and daring as the boys. Her name is Carmen. She was 16 year old.
Scene Two: As Carmen attempts to leap between two cars, her foot slips on a loose metal panel. The motion is sudden—caught mid-air, her eyes wide with shock as her body tumbles toward the gap below. No one thought about it could happen to her. The boys scream, reaching out to help, but was too late. She landed on the tracks, unable to roll out body completely from the moving steel wheels. Her legs were runover, literally cut off her legs from her upper body.
Scene Three. Carmen lies conscious beside the tracks, bloodied but alive. Her legs are gone. She was in shock and even not feel the pain. The boys jumped off the train came to her and rescue her. One of the older boy tear off his shirt and tied her wounded residual limbs to stop bleeding.
Scene Four. They carry her to the near by motorway. A pick up truck pass by stopped and drive them to the local hospital emergency room. Her eyes are open—not in despair, but defiance. " I can't feel my feet." soon after she speak to the nurse who rushed and checked out her. She passed out.
