"Rain lashed the narrow alley, neon signs flickering as she bolted through the slick darkness. Her cybernetic leg whirred, boots splashing through oily puddles. Behind her, enforcers closed in, drones buzzing like angry wasps, red lasers cutting through the downpour.
She slammed her palm against a rusted control box on the wall, sending a surge of electricity through the alley. Sparks exploded in a blinding cascade, forcing her pursuers to stagger back. She didn’t look back—just ran harder. The data chip in her pocket burned—her only hope.
The alley narrowed, walls closing in, but she pushed on. A rusted maintenance hatch loomed ahead. She wrenched it open, plunging into the city’s labyrinthine underbelly. Freedom or death. No time to stop."
Hey all,
Here is a new battle map that's going to come in clutch for epic narrow alley chase sequences!
I had a blast painting this one and just let loose with putting in all sorts of objects that came to mind, to fill up this scene. This battle map is rather big and it took quite a bit of time.
Taking a step back after I finished the piece, I realized that atmospherically, it has some Akira (the animation) vibes to it. I think it's that "Akira Red" color that's dominant in this scene.
Map Chaining
A back alley like this one is pretty versatile and can be narratively chained with many of my other maps. To give you guys some ideas to spark your imaginations, some maps that immediately come to mind are:
Cyberpunk Butcher Shop (the delivery backdoor leads to the alley)
Scavs Den (the den is pretty run down and aesthetically matches the buildings in this alley)
Chinese Restaurant Kitchen (the delivery backdoor leads to the alley)
Cyberpunk Old Pawn Shop (the delivery backdoor leads to the alley)
Ripperdoc Clinic (I drew a set of stairs somewhere at the middle of the Chase Alley map that leads down to a basement, specifically to tie it to this Ripperdoc Clinic. Look closely and you'll spot it - it's small, relative to the size of this map)

Dead End
This puts a barbed-wire fence up at one end of the alley, creating a dead end situation that puts your players in a predicament. I drew some large dumpsters next to the fence so in theory, one could use the dumpsters to get a boost and hop over the fence. But they're going to get cut up by the barbed-wires. A dilemma indeed.
Bottle Neck
A large garbage truck just happens to be doing its nightly pickup rounds in the neighborhood and conveniently creates a bottle neck near the midpoint of the alley. This will slow some aspects of the chase down and also provides hard cover where gunfire is involved.
The Side Alley
This variant creates a major shift in the dynamics of the battle map. Introducing a new pathway and creating a T-junction, this variant should create some heat at the center of the map where forces collide. It also makes catching a fugitive all the more tricky.
That's it folks. Let me know in the comments below, how you plan to use this battle map. Peace!
