Pretty easy to get hired on a ranch when you can demonstrate an affinity with the animals, really get on their level and vibe with them, keep them calm. 'Course I have a hard time keepin' myself calm sometimes, like now...worst part of being part cow is the got-dang heat. But doesn't take too long to take the edge off and get back to the chores..."
