Mermaids !
Added 2020-05-09 18:14:22 +0000 UTCWhile waiting for the poll to conclude, I figure it might be fun to see some of my own mermaid characters as well. Most of the images and designs in this post are from when I was at Gaia Online. These were for the aquarium feature "Ocean Party."
Actually, the upright images were made to be painted and segmented- to be animated in a puppet / pieces kind of style, similar to stuff might be done in a Vanillaware game, for example.
There are a handful of unused concepts in here as well. A few of these are in the Monstergirls book.
Some of the designs here are almost like the prototype of Minette, or have some similarities.
The envelope art are from more recent times, from a Gallery Nucleus show. I guess I tend to default to this design when drawing mermaids.
