2023-03-31 15:31:11 +0000 UTCIn the shower scene with the close-ups of their eyes, I felt like their emotions came through when they focus there (eyes are the windows of the soul) and other scenes like the campfire gave good energy idk it does feel like a film( I can't it over this OST). I really appreciate this feeling like a queer story bc I feel like queer stories can operate on a macro level, often focusing on the process of people really trying to figure out their sexuality and us seeing the process(coming of age as you guys mentioned), rather instead of sometimes just focusing on a micro level, with the queer characters and sex which we can find in bl. Queer stories can bring a deeper feeling to a project as a whole. Also coming from someone who identifies as a non-binary person and pansexual, I've spent some time just trying to understand my experience and trying to critically understand the experiences and perspectives of women and men. As you guys were saying about it being directed by a male director and having his perspective here instead of a cis straight female writer/director, that really does matter sometimes. I feel like we see here that we need more people who have actual experience with what these characters are feeling. In this project, we're talking about two men and whether or not the director is queer, they are still male so they still have that male experience and it can make a difference in how queer men are being portrayed and that they are taken seriously in a world that wants to see them as ridiculous and to point at. Anyway thanks for taking the time to react to this series guys, really like hearing your thoughts. I have high hopes for this one!

2023-03-31 11:50:28 +0000 UTCYes Nolan! Shelter is exactly what I thought of when watching the surfing scenes (one of the best queer films). I am hooked after the first two episodes and I am here for this journey. Also when you mentioned the European, SKAM vibes that makes perfect sense!

Compared to every other BL this year so far you can sense intention behind every glance, every action, every touch of the characters. The two leads are just doing a superb job, I love how it’s relying so much on their connection and curiosity of each other. I’m so itching for the next two episodes already. I have such a good feeling about it.
