September Update
Added 2024-09-04 21:56:16 +0000 UTCAfternoon patrons!
In this month's update for Demon Tale, my main focus was asset creation for the first level which is the forest, in order to push it towards completion. The way things look might have changed slightly as well, in order for me to get a certain look and feel to some of the environment. Like many things, this is a work in progress and I'm playing with configurations as I go forward.
Next month, I'm looking to have many of the core mechanics that were seen in the prologue game implemented, as well as a full first stage complete with boss, objectives, etc. This upcoming build will also be what comprises the first public build of the game, though the public build will of course, have less available than the main build.
I also want to say that this month's build will be the last build where the model swapping that you've been able to do will be available. The reason for this is that, I ultimately want model swapping to be a gameplay mechanic that you unlock as you go through the game. This bonus feature will be replaced with something else exclusive to the Ex builds.
Files have just been sent out. If you missed them this month, you can catch them again next month.

2024-09-07 15:09:13 +0000 UTCWow! The landscape of first stage is just too gorgeous!! Enemies popping from flowers is too cute!!! And that little parkour area to climb the tree. I’m sure there would be something to makes it worth the efforts to climb it. I think the path up the tree is a little rough tho. Like the area you walk on is lower that the hitbox that blocks walking. At multiple points around the tree, I had to jump or walk around an invisible wall in a straight visible plank of wood. Furthermore, I had to test it. I managed to jump off the map lol On the right side of the waterfall end. I went along the stream of water to try and fall there, but that little area where water ends has invisible walls to block falling. So I went up the water stream and tried to jump a little bit in the left side. That’s the specific point where invisible wall should be added too. Back to the castle. Walking towards the 2 columns at the opposite side of the door. There’s a circle silhouette appearing that gets larger and smaller as you adjust camera angle. I think the camera sphere “object” is adding a shadow. If that is the case, you can edit camera object to have no shadow. Adjusting camera angle still feels a little weird, but locking the mouse inside the game is a nice improvement. I look forward to see what comes next.
