December Update

Again, sorry for the delay. Ideally, I  wanted to have things ready by the 4th, but they ended up taking longer than I thought.

First, about Vagrant Blade. I didn't really add anything new in the way of animations, because I instead wanted to change the game format to the overhead view that it's now in. Further sexual animations in the game will be done with dynamic or close up views. The decision to make this change comes from two things. One, the River City Girls game is going to be a side scrolling game, and is quite frankly a much better candidate for it. The second reason, would be the fact that for the last two monthly release polls, Vagrant Blade has come in dead last. Considering that it's the newest game, I figured that meant I would need to do something to make it more unique when compared to the other two games. I'm taking a page from DOS.

The new mini game will henceforth be called, "Beat City Girls". The current controls are:

Arrow Keys: Move

A: Light Attack

D: Heavy Attack

Bare bones, and it seems sparse on the surface, but I've taken the time to format the game in a way that will at some point, allow for some character customization. Animations going in will be almost completely yuri-centric, with both Kyoko and the NPC's being able to do kinky stuff to each other.

The current health and recovery system is temporary. One of the things I didn't like about the actual River City Girls game, is that the mechanics were actually pretty far removed from classic River City mechanics, in my eyes. I'll be using something similar to original River City mechanics.

Health/Stamina: Will go down as you take hits. The lower it is, the harder it is to recover. Even if this is 0, it will still be possible to keep fighting.

Will Power: This will only decrease when sexually attacked, or a little bit when your health is 0. If both this and your health hit 0, you lose.

I'm planning some more stuff around upgrading the characters, RNG elements, and perhaps even more playable characters. I'll work it out in further updates.

Another thing. I know a few of you have been jumping for yuri animations in Vagrant Blade, but they're just not a priority for that game. The main reason for this is that the other two mini games are already heavily based around yuri. So for the sake of variety and catering to some of my fans who aren't the craziest about it, yuri in Vagrant Blade will come a little later.

Latest files can be found here.

All other files have just been sent out. If you missed them this month, you can catch them again next month.

Still think that loyalty reward "W Dynamic" is the next minigame format to use. That format is similar to supergal, but I'd like something slower paced that didn't require as much button mashing. Maybe something 100% timing driven with more scripted animation sequences.. for 1 hand play.

That will be in the next update.

What should Kyoko and npc do in order to behave obscenely?

anyone still had mbr complete save files?

I love your work, and River city girl looks great. I just hope that there will be yuri in Vagrant Blade since there was a poll earlier about what should be the next character in it. I remember there were several people voting for certain Queen's Blade characters, and I think maybe that's why people, including me, were expecting to see the addditional female characters from Queen's Blade in Vagrant Blade. But, let's all remember that Bomb-A-HEAD can do whatever he wants, and I fully respect that. So should everyone else. Good luck with your future work. It's definitely worth the money.

Thanks, that might be a good idea for Vagrant Blade. River City is somewhat of a cartoony franchise though, so I wanted to use a style that kinda matched.

I kinda get where you're coming from Emily. One executable? Unfortunately, this would complicate things on the coding side much more than I'm willing to deal with, and would probably just end up slowing down development time on everything. Not only that, some games are stylized differently, some have vastly different mechanics.

I can only speak for myself on this, but the entirety of the reason why I support you is for the Yuri content. For me, Queen's Blade summed up in a few words boils down to women fighting each other. So the inclusion of men is out of place from what I expect something coming out of this franchise to be. Contrast this to Ikki Tousen (I forget what it is called stateside, Battle Vixens maybe?) that has male characters to supplement the women that mostly have the starring roles. I feel like my expectation at a minimum for Vagrant Blade to have female bosses should not be too out of place? I think the choice of character for this game is an unfortunate one, as I personally prefer other characters in the franchise. Can't win them all, so here is to there being more characters involved at a later time. This is going to be interesting to see where these games end up. I agree with some others that the art might not be the best when it comes to the River City concept game. It is a first draft of sorts, so I can temper my expectations easily enough.

Vagrant Blade Girls in the City. just make one game and put everything in it with options to turn things on and off, and just keep updating and adding things a never ending battle H-game only point of the game is to get to play as character likeness and see enemies try to H them down. I like the sizing/scale of V-blade but prefer the art of beat-city makes me think of Borderlands cel shading.

Emily

The change to Vagrant Blade looks good, except that the enemy healthbars floating above them like that now looks pretty out of place. Maybe arrange it so that the healthbars are stationary, on the bottom end of the screen? As for Beat City Girls, I like the idea of it being yuri-centric but don't like the character design at all. Looks a bit too cartoony.

Pezantri

Thanks. Though, Queen's Blade was actually not heavily yuri outside of Echidna and Elena...at least not part one, which is the only part I watched and am referencing for the game.

Bomb-A-HEAD

Love the designs for the beat city girl. Hope to see some males in it to fight too

Bunny

Loving beat city girls so far, and see that kyoko appears to be popular than misako

I'm already liking how the Beat City Girls game is :0 . The models look great already. If you add all the features you mentioned and possibly flesh it out...I cannot speak for others since they have their preferences, but it could easily be a favorite imo ^^. Queen's blade was heavily yuri, so you shooould understand why yuri was requested. You probably could've gone the Dead or Alive route (Kasumi, Ayane, etc) or possibly Street fighter (Chun-li, Sakura, etc). But since you have already put in the time and effort for the game, what you have for Vagrant Blade is already pretty okay. I am more into your Supergal and Beat City Girls games atm though :3 . Can't wait to see what updates you have in the future, good luck! :]

Ooh I'm liking Beat City Girls - cant wait for more updates (: - shame about Vagrant blade (as a Queen's Blade fan) but the DoS game and system was very fun so all looks fun going forward :)
