Winter 1941/42

The first episode covers the operations of 1941/1942 winter. The Soviets have driven the Wehrmacht back and as the Germans attempt halt their retreat and regroup, the Red Army moves in to encircle and destroy most of their forces, thus deciding the war in one massive operation. Soon it becomes apparent, that the Soviets lack the strength to achieve their goals and by the end of winter the Germans stabilize the front lines.
