Early Access to E.T.: The Extraterestrial

Hey everyone, how is the week going so far? 😃

Here's my video reaction to another family movie that I absolutely enjoyed, despite sometimes Mary... well Mary... let's just say Mary is that necessary NPC to get the plot going 😂

Not complaining, don't get me wrong 😊

I hope you enjoy it! Stay safe 💖

Yes Reese's Pieces was a big seller when the movie came out I was 6 in 1982 they had lot of merchandise from toys E.T. bikes t shirts and all kinds of stuff even E.T. cereal

When Mary arrived, she sees her 3 kids worried for the creature, not scared of it. And they were begging to not be separated from E.T. That was a clear indicator for Mary that they know more about the creature and she should at least give them a chance to speak. If I'm the mother, and all 3 of my children are trying to stop me, I wouldn't be so sure that I'm doing the right thing. And because of this, I still don't consider she proceeded correctly 😔 I do understand that you and others may differ though, we don't have to agree

Yikes, what was the problem with them? 🥺 They lost a great advertisement opportunity

I do think you were too hard on Mary. And Keys for that matter. Mary is reacting the way just about any parent would in this situation. She sees her kids with this thing that she has no idea what it is and her first instinct is to get them as far from it as possible. As for Keys, by this point you were so far into protective mode I don't think you would have believed him if he said the sky was blue, but at that point he really had no reason to lie. He had what he was after. Lying gained him nothing. As for why he was there at the end, by that point I think he realized there was no point in trying to keep ET from leaving, but he still wanted to see it. Now when you were talking about how the govt. should have acted...well, yes and no. There are two possibilities, either they were surveilling with a warrant, which is legal, or they were not, which is not legal, but there may have been certain national security concerns that might give them a way around that. Either way, it's never touched on because this movie is primarily from the POV of the kids, and even if they had presented legal justification, the kids wouldn't have cared in the slightest.
