I think skipping the titles of the first episode of a certain season is crucial, but I wouldn’t spoil which season so skipping the first episode credits of each season is a good compromise. No need to skip a second or later episode.

The other day it occurred to me that "least favourite" doesn't necessarily mean much in the Buffyverse, because even my least favourite seasons have some amazing episodes and story arcs. So even if this season also becomes Liam's least favourite season, he'll probably still really enjoy it. As for me, I rank season 3 second or third, and I love a lot of it.

I think how James and Angel deal with their losses makes for a pretty good season opener. James and Fred, and maybe implied about Holtz, show us that existing isn't the same thing as living. That's something Wesley and Gunn talk about and then, just in case, Cordelia hangs a lamp shade on it. Then we get James' thoughts on 'love' which was a major part of Season 5 of BtVS. His version seems more comparable to Spike's in “Crush” (tell me you love me or I'll let my ex-girlfriend kill you) than what we got from Riley (tell me you love me or I'll leave town). Angel left town *because* he loved Buffy. He's affected by her death but not debilitated by it.

Love this season opener too! Just think Angel and Buffy are now on two different network so that whole crossover thing is difficult but they still managed to keep it connected! Cordelia and Angel is a ship! And that ending of course with Darla! ❤️ You are right, vampires can’t get pregnant. They’re technically dead.

A great episode, and a great reaction. That ending I can't even. Welcome to season 3! It's all just starting, get hyped! I personally don't think there's enough of a payoff to hold off on the credits. I understand why people would say otherwise, there are like 5-10 minutes of a future episode you'll be more invested in if you don't watch the titles. I just don't think it's worth waiting 5 more episodes and 3 more cycles for minimum return, especially since most people did have that information when the episodes aired. But that's just my opinion, gonna have to be a judgement call.

I don't get why reactors don't watch opening credits. We all watched them live. There are no major spoilers in them. I get feeling like they don't want stuff spoiled but in my eyes they're not spoilers. Am I the only one who feels this way? Personally I love opening credits and I like seeing people react to new cast members and it sucks a little when they don't see that. Or maybe I'm just a freak and no one else feels that way about opening credits... *shrugs*

In Buffy season 2 (Bad Eggs), Buffy and Angel talk about having children, and Angel says that vampires aren't able to. Hmm.... Something suspicious is afoot... Loved this reaction. I appreciated how much you felt for Angel and his guilt.

Okay, opening credits sequence, there is a change. There is a new cast member, if you want to see who that is then watch the credits next episode, if you don't then wait 5 or 6 or so episodes in and it should be obvious.

You asked about the titles. IMO, for maximum enjoyment, don't watch the titles for a couple of episodes. I'm interested in whether anyone else will come up with more specific instructions or reasoning.
