I wasn't a fan of musicals but just TRUST ME.
I have a completely different perspective now and it's not just ANY musical - so join me and watch me go from "meh" to an absolute fan of Hamilton. and I KNOWWW IT'LL DO THE SAME FOR YOU.

also just have to say burr is such as tragic character this play portrays him so well. he and alexander were basically thrown into the same position. brilliant young men who are hungry to make a name for themselves, the difference being Hamilton started with nothing. he could afford to take risk after risk cause there was nowhere to go but up. yet burr came from a prominent family and had to keep the name clean while also trying to make his own fame. so they are basically the same person with different mindsets. Hamilton knows life is short so he takes risks and gambles it all and keeps winning. while burr keeps waiting for his moment to strike and keeps falling short each time. they are both climbing the ranks, yet each disagree with the others methods of doing so

2025-09-23 05:29:28 +0000 UTCi know you watched this a while ago but just wanted to clarify hamilton didnt have an affair with angelica. her song (satisfied) was about the night he and the sisters first met at the ball. they basically both fell in love with him at first sight but angelica let her sister have him because she loved her. it can be a little confusing as alex and angelica do have a very flirty air between them the whole musical lol, but angelica never took it farther to an affair

Hamilton would much rather had the President to serve until death. While Washington wasn't the great person we learned him to be in elementary school, you have to give him credit for this one. Setting the custom of stepping down after two terms was probably the most significant thing to happen to the presidency.
