Did you just say "is this the only golf movie"? lol. Caddyshack 1 and 2 The Legend of Bagger Vance Tin Cup The Greatest Game Ever Played These are probably the most well-known golf movies. The Caddyshacks and Happy Gilmores are probably the best golf comedies, though. The other 3 I listed are wholesome dramas. Caddys are usually required in fancy golf clubs, not tournaments. A caddy is not just a golf club carrier, its an extra pair of eyes and usually also someone that helps with strategy and club choice. A caddy that works for the golf club usually has insider knowledge of the course and can advise on each hole; the traps, and the tricks. Every time I see Carl in a comedy, it just reminds me of his part in Arrested Development talking about stew, "Baby, you got stew going" lol.
