No, Vince McMahon Isn't Buying Back WWE

Can't believe this is something we have to write about, but no, Vince McMahon isn't buying back WWE.

Jonathan Coachman noted this week that he heard rumors that Vince McMahon was interested in buying back WWE. While we're sure Coachman did hear of that interest, another media person came along and claimed they heard it as if it were new. They didn't hear it from anywhere outside of Coachman reciting it, and it isn't happening.

McMahon would almost certainly not have the financial means at this point to purchase the company, and doesn't have the ability to buy back a controlling interest in it. WWE's market value has increased significantly in the years since McMahon made the deal, for a number of reasons. McMahon's does have remaining stake in TKO, but The Vangaurd Group, who most of you have never heard of, owns nearly as much stock in TKO as Vince McMahon. Endeavor, Silver Lake Equityholders and Egon Durban own 60.92 percent per an from Wrestlenomics.

In other news, Sean Ross Sapp is interested in Bo Jackson somehow turning 25 years old an playing running back for the Cincinnati Bengals.

To be clear -- this has nothing to do with Coachman's credibility -- he probably did hear that Vince WANTS to. No reputable media member has heard anything else indicating it was happening.

Comments

If anyone can do it, Bo can.

Coachman's a tool and trying to become relevant again. He hangs out with Russo. That's everything I need to know about him.
