Starscout Dizzy: Dark Danaan
Added 2017-11-11 14:00:41 +0000 UTCSo here is a rough Dark Danaan concept sheet. It's pretty rough. I should really resize the text. If I was being serious about this I'd also work on a few sketches of what Dark Danaan ships look like, but I HATE drawing vehicles. I HATE it almost more than anything.
In any case, this is just one of about six 'main' races that exist in Starscout Dizzy's world. They are very obviously based on the Dark Eldar from Warhammer 40K. The others being Humanity, The Danaan (elves), Rozians (hybrid species whose entire evolution is based on 'cuckolding'), Felicians (cat-people), and Bogans (basically orcs, but more pig-like). I'd kind of like to make concept sheets for all of them, but I don't know. I kind of want to spend my Daily Sketch times on other random ideas also.

I think i will try something like that, yeah, but not on a specific timeline. I think in a few days I'll have another vote. Some species really don't need big sheets. Humanity is just Humanity. I have nothing much to show for them. Felicians are also very simple. They're just cat-people. Rozians would require a huge sheet though because I'd want to convey that there are thousands of unique hybrids.

Males can't get pregnant, and I don't think that the mechanics of reproduction are such that sperm can be 'flexible' about what it can impregnate, unlike a female which in reality can become impregnated by even non-sperm material, it it is inseminated correctly. For a male Rozian to impregnate a non-Rozian female, the burden of compatibility is on the female, and therefore doesn't really work.

2017-11-11 18:56:43 +0000 UTCWell if your interest in making time for both this and your daily sketch, maybe you can set up a weekly or bi-weekly basis to work around? maybe you can go for some dizzy ideas in your daily sketches to coincide with those data sheets in those weeks.

2017-11-11 14:10:51 +0000 UTCI will draw something to explain Rozian evolution at some point. Either in a sheet like this, or one day as a dedicated Dizzy comic. I had sketched out an idea of Lucky explaining to Dizzy how he'd never get to reproduce with a Rozian female since he's a genetic 'Beta,' and Rozians only breed with 'Alphas,' but the comic would have been way too long.
