Briar Concept Art, Please Discuss

So, I'm thinking of spotlighting Briar a bit next month, because it'll be October, and ya'know. Witches. Halloween. Tropes. The first thing I'm doing is cleaning up her character design a bit, making it more simple. Purple hat, purple eyes, purple makeup, sleeves, thigh-high boots, purple thong, and pasties. That's the outfit. I might give her a big leather jacket when the situation calls for it. Her hair is changing as well. Since I gave Cadence the super long braid, I'm giving Briar a more lopsided wave. Think of Laura from Street Fighter, only no braiding on the side.

More importantly, I really enjoy the trope of funny sidekicks, and witch's come with that trope pre-equipped thanks to the concept of 'familiars.' (look it up on Wikipedia if you don't know.) I thought about just having Key be her sidekick, but a barbarian/thief is kind of its own concept and doesn't mix as well with a witch as a familiar does. I really only need her to have one, and three concepts.

Turnip-Boy: Or 'Jack' maybe. Turnip-Boy is a demon-possessed turnip. He has all the plant powers you can imagine, like growing vines, regenerating, or growing thorns. He is entirely mute. No talking. Briar still talks to him, and she can just sort of understand what she's saying. Think Han Solo and Chewbacca. Turnip-Boy will just look at Briar, and Briar will just know what he's saying. She's the only one though. Maybe witches and demons will be able to understand him.

Inky/Impy/Batty: An insolent and kinda whiny little incubus. He hates being Briar's familiar, and she hates being his witch, but they're stuck together because the contract is binding. Batty is actually pretty nice and fair-minded. The only person he tries to fuck over is Briar herself. He's a bit of a romantic and is always running off to try and get lucky with sexy little halflings and goblin-girls, but Briar sabotages all of his relationships.

Rocky/Clay: A golem. Briar sculpted him herself and let a demon possess him. Rocky has all the generic earth/rock powers you can imagine. He is shy and timid, despite being made of stone. (This is my least favorite of the three)

So . . . Thoughts? Suggestions? Criticisms? This is not an actual poll. I'm just curious. I'm leaning towards Turnip-Boy, but I'd like a different name than that. Maybe.

Turnip

DresdenQ

I'm liking the Imp so long as he's the same size as Turnip-Boy when erect. ;)

No prob man. Nice glad I could help. Then go with the Impy guy. Oh for Gourd dude, why not Big Gourd, since he's y'know big there.

Master Dragon

I've written stories about a sorceress named Nadia who has a cat-girl familiar, so I don't want to tread over old ground too much. Also, I need the sidekick to be male for joke reasons. Most of my repartee involves male v female characters.

I am surpised you didn't do a cat. Like maybe have her have a cat that turns into a sexy tomboy Catgirl. Kinda like when felica of darkstalkers turns into a catgirl from a regular cat. I think the Impy bat is cool though. Blair is hawt, I am curious what other Halloween Stuff you'd draw next month. I am curious on your take if you'd ever draw Trash from the classic Return of the living dead in human form.

Master Dragon

Could make a good written story, but I need these character's entire lives to fit into 2-3 panels. This narrative could serve as a good example of a specific relationship Briar fucked over for him, like one of many, but I wouldn't make it his origin. I don't think the Bat-Boy character would have ever been human. I tend to like characters being what they are without any need to explain why they are what they are. Briar is a witch because she's a witch. That's all. Her origin is that she's a witch. I kind of what that to be the same of the Bat-Boy. He's an imp who is an imp, and that's the whole story. I guess some people do BECOME witches or imps, but I'm not interested in anyone's origin story.

I actually came up with a head canon for the imp. My idea was that Briar is looking for a new plaything when she spots a well hung twink boy toy, name Lupin or Lucius something fancy but he's got a girlfriend, a pretty and pure town girl, like Belle from Beauty and the Beast. Lupin is a romantic and "intellectual" he dresses like a goth kid (mostly dark clothes) he tells his girlfriend poetry and romantic stuff that makes her fall in love with him even more. Briar finds him and his girl fucking one night and sees his cock in action for the first time and as he goes home for he night she curses him and turns him into an Imp/Bat, but with the same cock size. He stays locked up in her lair annoying Briar when she's not fucking him. Briar agrees to release him if his girlfriend still will take him back. Lupin agrees and is confident his girlfriend is still in love with him, but when he returns she's fucking the local big dick horse trader Phillip (who could be black) and states she's moved on to "bigger" and "better" things. Lupin defeated reluctantly returns to Briar's service. Being an annoying sidekick whose also a good lay at times.

Tropes are the best!

Her personality will not change. She'll be the same sarcastic bitch she's always been.

kinda like the imp the most. I just feel like there's more comedic potential. although when I think about it, it may be hard to avoid using a trope or two when writing him.

Grisha

I like Jack as the Turnip boy's name, but "Turnip Twerp" does sound like something she'd say when annoyed with him.

Dantels

First of all I should say I like imp concept most of all. Also it's good you changed her hair style, but I hope her overall personality will not be changed much. Overall it would be great to have more Briar. Much more. And they are going so well together with Cadence :P

Turnip boy and probably Turnip Twerp or something since she's a bitch

That black guy

Jack-Sprout also sounds good. Sprout sounds good.

Now that does make some sense, a shapeshifting familiar would definitely suite Briar's needs (or rather wants)

Honestly though I find myself Drawn to the bat guy, I like bats and icubuss, and while its a sad story, it sure to be entertaining.

I like each design. However, why restrict yourself to one when you can go with the angle of an imp that takes the form of whatever Briar requires it to be? It can posses a turnip, a golem, or a bat. That way, you don't have to restrict yourself to a singular appearance. The imp itself could look like say a candle with a devil's face in its purest form. Just tossing out ideas. But I do find it fitting this creature that I suggest can take varied appearances given that Briar is capricious and easilly bored.

Well i'm always up for "violent rape," with one of her familiars going at it, with a random, girl while she rolls her eyes, and masturbates...but it might be funny to have the stone guy properly apologize to the people who are violently trying to kill him,( and failing, to get to her)...or properly apologizing, for the raping she orders him to do.

somethingpurple67

Well considering she's also rude and crude she could come up with something a bit demeaning yet affectionate like Jock-Sprout or Jack-O-Dildo

Ultrasound7

Yeah, it is kind of simple and straight-to-the-point. Briar would be the kind of girl who would named her dog "Dog."

Ps turnip boy seems like a name she would come up with so it kinda work

Dvspuss

I like the design and I would love to see turnip boy just so I can have a tentacle where the woman is in charge

Dvspuss

Thanks, Ace. I'm leaning towards Turnip-Jack as a name. I don't know yet.

I like the turnip boy, original and the briar month sounds cool, nice concepts
