Faith on the Edge

I stressed over this picture a lot more than I should have just because of the source material. I really, really, really don't like futuristic or 'clean' aesthetics. Everything made by Apple for instance. Hate it. The first few times I saw Mirror's Edge I didn't even realize it was a game. I thought it was a commercial for a deodorant or a computer or something. I really dislike near-future, Start-Trek style sci-fi, cyberpunk, or anything like Mass Effect. I just don't get it, and worse, I find it painfully boring. I might begin a rule about those things. Like I won't draw them. I haven't gotten there yet though, and this picture ended up going fine I think, once I decided to just do dark abstract background that would force focus on the girl in the middle.  Came out alight I think.

This post is... Edge-y. But seriously, if you don't like so space operas, that's cool. You do you. Patrons are here because they enjoy your work. Thanks for the eye candy!

This piece came out quite nicely. Glad to know what is difficult for you for future reference.

Perelta and some of his crew are fine because I can more or less draw them as modern day punk/street fashion. Stuff like guns and cybernetics are still outside me wheelhouse. I don't even have any of that stuff on my computer to reference. Steampunk maybe I can handle without stressing.

I kind of think so. Although I haven't drawn them that way (largely due to client's preferences) I like to imagine Halflings are all like Hobbits, with big ears, big furry feet, and maybe larger than usual eyes. Dwarfs are in fact bigger, and weigh much more more. Also the beards. No real hard rules for me though.

Thanks, TT. All the stress was right at the beggining when I was deciding what to do with the negative space, and whether or not the men would be in the uniforms of the bad guys from the game. Decided against it all simply because I couldn't figure out how to draw it.

It turned out awesome. sorry to hear all that. Not sure if you care for feedback but i wouldn't stress about forcing an environment you don't like. If the main attraction looks great, a generic color bg will always have your back.

Marku-san, you're losing your mind doing this pron-lyfe shit over small stuff. Asian chick gets gangbanged by bigg diccs. Easy. Now here's the hard question: If a Halfling and a Dwarf had a kid together, could you tell the difference?

You made a great job on this one, and yes is an interesting issue, but is not bad, we all have themes we like more and which we like less, and is impressive you can do such an awesome job with a thing you not enjoy that much

I understand your desire not to draw stuff in genres you do not like, but I'd like to thank you for drawing my Oc's in that genre, I feel they came out really well and your style actually did give them a life of their own. If your chose not to do it in future I'm perfectly fine with that, after all a lot of people say "Do what you love."

SorrowBorn

That's an interesting issue but I can sorta get it.
