Some more cosplay tips from the Morrigan speed run.
Wing CONSTRUCTION is done, we're onto priming and painting now. As you can see they've got wire poking out of the bottom there, I'm already trying to figure out how I'm going to get them on my head/into the wig. I'm not sure if I'm going to plastidip them or flexbond them for priming... Either works? At this point they already look nice and smooth since I've hit them with a final heat treatment.
Normally Morrigan and Lilith have tights, but for Ren Faire I wanted something a little hardier so I didn't have to worry about damage. I got a pair of leggings (WITH POCKETS), shoved some big cardboard sheets in the legs and started painting on the bat pattern. I made a little pattern piece of out of paper, traced it on with chalk and went in with a paint brush. Not the most efficient method but it's working for me. Paint is just standard acrylic with a bunch of fabric medium mixed in. LOVE fabric medium, lets you turn basically any cheap acrylic craft paint into ad hoc fabric paint in most scenarios.
Tomorrow/Today is priming wings like I said at the top, wig styling (bangs need a little attention to give them that iconic hime-straight cut) and Ive gotta figure out if I want to modify that top/wear my other corset option instead before I get the feathers on it. I've decided I'm NOT going to have time to get the big waist wings done, but that's totally fine. I think they'd just have gotten MEGA in the way.
Let me know if you've got any specific questions on what I'm doing here, do you like these little half-updates/half how-to/half blog posts (yes that's 150%, that's how much I love you Patrons :3)
