If it helps you though, Val’s full name is Valerie Flores (very few people know this because I rarely write down their backgrounds lol) and she’s Filipino/Scottish. I chose Valerie because it sounded close valkyrie (warrior physique and all) and i thought it was pretty.

Did an origin search for the name Val and it looks like it’s either Italian or Swedish so I’ve tried translating a few words which could match the new girl. (It’s what I do when I need to come up with a name!) I’ve tried words like Shark, Smile, Lazy, Dark, Ocean, Tooth etc… The best one I’ve found? Black. Translated to Italian: Nera. Just an idea but could be worth playing with if you still need a name.
