As most of you know about 2 months ago I purchased a complete comprehensive guide to Blender, an open source CGMA application (Computer graphics modelling & animation). I've only been able to sit down to 3 learning lessons so far but this is the result of the 3rd lesson. I'm able to manipulate shapes but also ensure they are geometrically sound, and not just a cube I've put legs on :-).
Looking at the next lesson I'm going to learn how to take 2 objects and mesh them together into a single one. I can't wait for the texture lessons and then the animation ones, another creator: Lition, has got to the point where he was able to animate an erection (don't ask I'm wondering that as well...).
The advantage of me doing this is that all game models, landscapes etc are made in software like this, blender also allows for movie and game making (to a certain extent) plus, call me a purist if you must...I've always felt more comfortable creating my own models or at least getting a basic model and then putting it all together like I do now (I start off with a basic naked human shape and then create)
This of course is just a side hobby, my main focus is the games and videos at the moment. Just thought I'd let you know I'm keeping my skills updated.
