Lost in Alembic
Added 2024-02-24 22:14:59 +0000 UTCHi All. I've gone down a bit of a rabbit hole trying to figure out a way to program an Alembic File Importer for Daz Studio. The reason being is that I really want to use Cinema 4D for the clothes ripping effects. I need a way to bring the cloth ripping animation back into Daz Studio. Otherwise I will need to move everything into either Cinema 4D or perhaps Blender from Daz. Exporting from Daz has been challenging and it seems that programming is even harder for me.
I dislike admitting defeat and giving up but I also need to keep the content coming for you all. If any of you think you got the programming skills to take on a tough project I'd sure like to collaborate in some way.
Thank you for your continued support and patience.

2024-05-14 04:21:09 +0000 UTCThe code is in C++. Alembic Ogawa is open source and I'm hoping to utilize the Daz Studio API to make a plugin. Blender is also open source so I thought that I'll just read how Blender imports an Alembic file and recode it for Daz. I have not used gpt4 so perhaps that will be a tool to use once I know what I want.
