It's two franchises led by two totally normal and chill dudes.
That's right, we're talking about Mel Gibson and Sylvester Stallone!
It's LETHAL WEAPON vs ROCKY.
Just guys being dudes - solving crimes (LETHAL WEAPON), embarrassing the Soviet Union (ROCKY), becoming buddies against all odds (both).
With a Lethal Weapon series, you'd get some Richard Donner, Shane Black, and Joel Silver talk - three stars in the constellation of the Blank Check Universe. You'd also get a little splash of Joe Pesci - a man criminally unrepresented on this podcast.
With Rocky, we'd follow one of the most insane franchise trajectories in movie history - from the Italian Stallion's humble beginnings punching frozen meat in South Philly up to Pauly fucking a robot...and beyond! No CREED or CREED II though - they count as their own franchise.

I feel like people aren’t remembering how gd boring the lethal weapon movies actually are. The parts everyone remembers are like 5% of the movies’ runtime.
