I've never heard of this issue before, at least not an issue on linux and windows, I'll do a bit of testing on macOS.

Hi Jonas! I just recently upgraded my work environment from early 2010s computers running High Sierra. with frequent Clementine use. I am now running Sequoia on mini M4. I've been using Strawberry for some days now. and I have been loving every single upgrade I have stumbled upon as of now. Strawberry has managed to keep a simple. easy to understand and navigate interface. while reinforcing the already strong sorting and searching features Clementine had. Thanks a lot. I wanted to report a bug concerning 24bit FLACs. The audio is really really weak compared to all other audio files. It feels like a turntable with no amp. I found the workaround of normalizing audio in Strawberry settings. but for several artistic and professional reasons. i want my audio files to undergo no dynamic alteration. FYI when I play thru the vlc or the finder. the files playback is ok. No problem occurred when playing other 24 bit files (tried with aiff. alac and wav). but is systematic to 24bit flac files despite all other file spec. Were you aware of this? Is there anything I didn't see to solve this. or is it something you'd be able to fix on a future release? Thank you!

It's still accurate (It's also written under Features on the website): https://strawberrymusicplayer.org/#features It's possible to add but will take some time to do, I will look into it as some time in future.

Hi Jonas, I bought the latest version, but features seem to be slightly different on the MacOS and Windows version - specifically no Devices menu on Windows. I saw a post from a couple of years ago stating that it's not possible to enable the Devices menu on Windows - is that still accurate? All my music is on my Windows machine so I'd like to use it if I can. Thanks

Ben

I'm buying a version that isn't compatible with the system I'm using and the solution you're proposing is to do a system update. I thought that this version would be more efficient than the one I use (Version 1.0.10) under Rosetta. In fact: no. Furthermore, it is not specified that the minimum system is 14 or 15. I have the bad impression of having been taken advantage of.

Sorry, but the required macOS version for the arm64 release has been increased to 14 (Sonoma), unfortunately the version listed on the website has hasn't been updated because GitHub has changed the available SDK without me noticing, I've fixed this now. To get it working, either upgrade your mac to 14 or 15, or use the x86_64 version of strawberrry which still works on macOS 12 and later, you'll get a warning on startup, but it should still run.

Hello, Sorry but my English is very poor. I have just loaded the version for Mac M1 and unfortunately it is not accepted by the system. I am using the terminal ‘open /Applications/strawberry.app/Contents/MacOS/strawberry’ which works but is not satisfactory. I'm using version 13.7.4 of the os with ARM architecture. If I try to open with : ‘open -a /Applications/strawberry.app/Contents/MacOS/strawberry’ Here's the return: The application /Applications/strawberry.app/Contents/MacOS/strawberry cannot be opened for an unexpected reason, error=Error Domain=NSOSStatusErrorDomain Code=-10825 ‘kLSIncompatibleSystemVersionErr: The app cannot run on the current OS version’ UserInfo={_LSLine=4200, _LSFunction=_LSOpenStuffCallLocal} Could you help me Thank you Bonjour, Désolé mais mon anglais est très pauvre. The first time you start, you need to go to Applications and right click on Strawberry and select open. Also see: https://support.apple.com/en-gu/guide/mac-help/mchleab3a043/mac

Jonas Kvinge

If it's a newer mac (M1-M4), you use the arm64 dmg file.

what do I do with these (below). how do I put this application on my computer running Sonoma 14.6.1 I get messages that say strawberry can't be opened because apple can't check it for malicious software. Also Flash not supported on macs with Apple silicon. I did paste into terminal Open a terminal (Applications / Utilities / Terminal), and enter the following: defaults write org.strawberrymusicplayer.Strawberry Playlist.greyout_songs_startup -bool false. Which of these do I use????? strawberry-1.2.7.tar.xz strawberry-1.2.7-x86_64.dmg strawberry-1.2.7-arm64.dmg StrawberrySetup-1.2.7-msvc-x86.exe StrawberrySetup-1.2.7-msvc-x64.exe StrawberrySetup-1.2.7-mingw-x86.exe StrawberrySetup-1.2.7-mingw-x64.exe

It's my first time purchasing and using Strawberry. Actually, adding it to Accessibility seems to have worked. It now opened! Thank you for troubleshooting

Juan F. Agron

Did you have an older version previously where this was not an issue? Can you try this: Under "System Settings" / "Privacy & Security" / Accessibility, Add strawberry If that doesn't work. Close strawberry again. Open a terminal and try this: mv ./Library/Preferences/org.strawberrymusicplayer.Strawberry.plist ./Library/Preferences/org.strawberrymusicplayer.Strawberry.plist_ mv ~Library/Application\ Support/Strawberry/Strawberry/strawberry.db ~Library/Application\ Support/Strawberry/Strawberry/strawberry.db_ This will start with a new configuration and database. The old files is started with a _ at the end in the filename and can be renamed back.

Jonas Kvinge

Unfortunately no, in the dock, it bounces for a while (while trying to load). Then it stops and, when I right click, it tells me that it is not responsive.

Juan F. Agron

Does this help? Exit Strawberry first. Open a terminal (Applications / Utilities / Terminal), and enter the following: defaults write org.strawberrymusicplayer.Strawberry Playlist.greyout_songs_startup -bool false

Jonas Kvinge

Hi, this version becomes unresponsive and never ends up opening. I am running a Mac 13.2.1. Any tips on how to navigate this?
