Try the new version 1.2.2, should hopefully fix this issue. https://www.patreon.com/posts/strawberry-1-2-2-116580727

sudo will run strawberry as root, it is not required, and is not advised. If it doesn't start please try the following: sudo xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/strawberry.app And see: https://support.apple.com/en-gu/guide/mac-help/mchleab3a043/mac

I will probably look into it sooner or later.

Can you do a backtrace of the crash and report it on GitHub (https://github.com/strawberrymusicplayer/strawberry/issues). See https://wiki.strawberrymusicplayer.org/wiki/Backtrace

thanks for the reply (: I did all of the above unfortunately. i built both strawberry and the spotify plugin from source. strawberry --version Strawberry 1.2.0-151-g16c9a0f9 I followed the linked instructions and that all seemed to work, it stopped showing that I needed to install the plugin at least. The latest strawberry doesn't have place for username and password so I assumed that you would fill the token via the browser popup. Is there something I am missing here or should I wait for an actual release? I am loving strawberry so far, so thank you...

brad simon

You also need the latest Strawberry from source as the latest release (1.1.3) doesn't use access token for streaming. But it should work, I just did some testing on it yesterday.

Jonas Kvinge

Spotify did some changes to their API requiring access token, no longer accepting username/password login for the actual streaming. So you need to build the latest version of the GStreamer spotify plugin from source, as there is no release of gst-plugins-rs with those changes yet, it's pretty easy to build, I've made some instructions here: https://wiki.strawberrymusicplayer.org/wiki/Installing_GStreamer_Spotify_plugin

Hello (: I have been having too much fun playing with strawberry, thank you. Tidal is working a treat, but I'm struggling with spotify. I have tried a bunch of things such as building the 1.2 version of strawberry, installing 1.2 from the deb file and remaking the plugin a bunch of different ways on both my host and containers. Now everything says its happy and logged in but when I try and play a spotify song the app crashes, where is the right place to make a post about this? thanks (:

Note that what I called 'reset' wasn't the default. I'm not sure where the added columns came from

Jeroen

Since recently I’m noticing some strange behaviour in the playlist, while just listening / browsing music: • Untriggered resetting the playlist columns: some incl moodbar, loudness range, integrated loudness range are added back • Moodbar is calculated for all songs in playlist • This happened on playlist that were already there • When creating a new playlist: I got the columns that were there in the other opened playlist, but then a few moments later unwanted columns were added too. Version 1.1.3

Hi. Is it in the plans to notarize the Apple Silicon releases available here?
