Joe Satriani’s tone is legendary and pretty tough to match with a digital amp modeler. The only way to truly nail it is with his full gear setup - which I don't have access to unfortunately. I got as close as I could using Amplitube, and I'm pretty happy with the results. For the tab, I really focused on replicating the studio version, while blending a few things I’ve seen him do live. The tapping section can be a real challenge — worth trying if you’re up for it!

There are so many ways you can approach the chords in this song. Watching live clips, you’ll see Angus just flying around the stage — sometimes it’s a G5, sometimes a full G, maybe a partial A or full A chord. He’s not overthinking it, he’s just giving it energy, and I think that’s the key to capturing the spirit of this track.
For my tab, I wrote the rhythms as I heard them on the studio version, but when you play it, don’t be afraid to feel it out. Same thing with the p...

This is an updated version of my Mr. Crowley video from about 5 years ago. I made changes to the tempo since the old one used Google’s average tempo, but this time I mapped it more accurately to how the band actually played, speeding up and slowing down naturally, especially around the solo.
I also corrected some notes that I had originally played from memory and tried to be as true to the studio version as possible.
The intro was done on the

With the new Spinal Tap movie coming out, I had to give Stonehenge a proper tab treatment. If you squint at the video, you’ll even see the amp in the background going to eleven (small detail, but it had to be there).
This is actually my first time adding a mandolin tab on the channel. I hope you have one around to practise on! There isn’t much clear footage of the finger positioning on this tune - camera work in the live clips doesn’t really show much - so I did my best educated ...

Billy Duffy has an amazing tone on this song - I did my best to replicate it through Amplitube.
Had to get this one on the channel just to play a Gretsch White Falcon!
It's a great song for beginners progressing to intermediates. Enjoy!

Hey everyone!
Just uploaded my Zelda’s Lullaby cover from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time — and attached to this post are the Guitar Pro file and Logic Pro session file.
In the video, I used the AeroBand MIDI controller guitar to recreate all those nostalgic Nintendo 64 sounds. It’s come a long way with some solid improvements and really helped nail the original vibe.
The arrange...

I wasn’t super familiar with Megadeth’s first two albums until recently, but diving into Chris Poland’s unique guitar style really gave me a fresh perspective on the band and a new appreciation for their early days.
There aren’t many live videos of Chris playing this song, but I managed to find a recent reunion performance with Dave Ellefson on YouTube that gave me some insight. I used that and my best judgment to piece together what he likely played on the original track. Ther...

There weren’t any good close-up videos online of the fingerings used in Amazing, and both Joe Perry and Brad Whitford tend to improvise around the chord changes rather than sticking to a strict note-for-note version. I used my best judgment after listening to a partially isolated track I found on YouTube.
The lick in measure 31 is a bit more subtle in the studio version, but it’s definitely in there if you listen closely — I just didn’t roll the volume back for that part in this...

Jason did an amazing job with this one.
A super iconic solo, with some really hard to nail bends + some awesome funky verse riffs. This is a really fun one to jam along with.

Incredibly underrated guitar solo. When I first heard this song as a kid, it immediately inspired me to pick up a guitar and learn it!
This video is sponsored by PRS Guitars. The guitar featured here is a PRS SE Custom 24, and it was absolutely perfect for this style of song. It feels and sounds amazing, and the finish is absolutely beautiful. PRS offers SE versions of their higher-end models, and this is a very affordable option for budding guitarists or anyone looking for a solid, ver...

I did my best to get the timing and feel. Stevie improvised most of this track — and when you’re truly improvising like he was, you naturally sit a little behind the beat. My version may come across slightly more “on” the beat at times, just by nature of transcribing and replaying it — I worked hard to capture his tone, phrasing, and style as accurately as possible.
For the harmonics at the end of each verse, I studied a live performance where Stevie flicks the pickup selecto...

A cover band staple! Now here's my cover, of a cover.
This is a tune that really needed the vocals to feel right. I collaborated with an old bandmate, and great friend of mine, Darrin Martin. I actually used to play the Black Beauty that's in this video in our old band, Pleasure Stone, back in the day. I had sold it to Darrin years ago... and just recently reacquired it from him!
For a tab video, the vocals might come off a bit louder to some ears — but honestly, I was loving...

Is this song just Thunderstruck, but with bats?
This one has been on the list for a very long time. Glad we finally got it out! There aren't too many 2010's songs that get requested. We actually have playlists for decades, and this is the first addition to the 2010 playlist 😂
Here's some notes from Jason:
That intro has some really cool economy picking. Most people use pull-offs here, but after digging into it, it's straight picking throughout. I had never...

This update comes after reflecting on the evolution of this channel. Initially, when I started, I posted songs the way I played them for my local students, but as the page gained popularity, my focus shifted towards delivering more accurate tabs that align closely with the original artists.

I thought it would be fun to cover the Love is a Long Road since it's been popular lately after being featured in the GTA 6 trailer.
I was also lucky enough to use a Streamliner Gretsch G2622TG for this one. It's a fun song to jam along with, and we've got some vocals in there again. Felt like this one needed it.

Some notes from Jason:
Classic song with some funky chords happening. The first F#m7 chord has a b note in it. In the first verse you can hear it but it’s less apparent in the following verses. So the first verse I played it as an F#m7add11 and the rest of the verses were wider F#m or F#m7
I wouldn’t worry about it much because it seems that live they play straight up F#m chords and...

Tuned down a half step, by ear — as Jimi did.
For most of my recordings, I go straight through Amplitube, but for this one, I wanted real, room-shaking feedback. So I lined out my Amplitube settings into my Marshall JVM — kind of a hybrid tone here. The amp was basically on cremate mode... pretty sure the whole block felt it. Sorry neighbours.
About the crickets: there’s this moment in the original where you hear feedback while Jimi’s holding a note and tuning with his r...

Another killer performance from Jason
It’s Thursday afternoon and the Priest is back!
I wanted to do a priest song that was great for beginners that still sounds awesome. Glenn and KK use different fingerings for the main riff so i included that in the tab. Those guys were huge influences on me growing up and are obviously pioneers of the twin guitar attack that got really popular in metal.
Backing track and Amplitube tone attached.

This is more of a beginner song for you guys - I can't tab out Eruption every week!
This has been requested on Youtube many many times, and I'm stoked to finally get this up while playing an actual Airline! The This Jetsons ‘59 2P sounds, and feels, absolutely amazing, and I love the vintage vibes.
Learning this song was a blast, maybe not super technically challenging, but the challenge of getting the tones right in Amplitube was a lot of tun.

A Canadian covering an American band (Metallica), covering an Irish rock band (Thin Lizzy), covering a traditional Irish song!
Note from Jason, who did a great job on this:
This is a really fun Metallica cover with a cool solo from James. I based the positioning from live videos, but they seem to play it differently over the years. Maybe they just have to relearn it every St. Patrick’s day?
Backing track mp3 and Amplitube tones attached. Get ever...
