I'm sorry that you had so much trouble with the film getting blocked, but I'm really happy you were finally able to watch it and post the reaction. 😁 Now, I have a confession to make. You know I am a huge Barbra Streisand fan, but this has never been one of my favorite of her movies. This is one of her most famous roles, and she even received an Academy Award nomination for her performance here. To celebrate Barbra's birthday month, I thought we could revisit the film, and maybe I could see it in a different light. Streisand does indeed give an excellent performance, but I find her character Katie to be so unlikeable. I also till don't fully understand the politics of the movie, other than that Hubbel and Katie were always on opposite sides. Kemi, your comments at the end of the reaction were spot-on: "She was polishing a shoe that was content without shoe polish." That is so smart!! You always have the best insights!
