Added 2024-02-12 10:30:29 +0000 UTCHey everyone!
I hope you had a nice week-end!
Here is this week's patroncast episode :)
- 01:00 We'll start with the channel, explaining why the MacOS video didn't happen yet, trying out Youtube's new A/B testing features, and looking at making more community-focused content
- 15:44 Narrowly avoiding a potential channel hack from what looked to be Inkscape, but definitely was not
I hope you'll enjoy listening to this one, and have a great week!

Hi Nick, I have a few topics: 1. I enjoyed the video of the window managers and it was a rare experience because you have similar ideas on the topic as I have. I hear about them all the time, my colleagues talk a lot about them but I use stable normal KDE because I like the completeness of the environment and like to use it as consistent, fancy and graphically usable as it is. 2. As a Brodie listener I frequently hear about Hyperland, he uses it and used an auto tiling WM so I'm interested in your opinion on it (as a full desktop user). I’m also interested in the Wayland feature completeness of Hyperland as opposed to KDE/Gnome or Sway. 3. MacOS: I had an old VM (Catalina) but I successfully deprecated it and I won’t use one in the foreseeable future but we had a project to try it. If you haven’t seen this yet check it out, it might work: https://github.com/kholia/OSX-KVM

2024-02-13 12:05:40 +0000 UTCI cannot strongly enough recommend QEMU/KVM for all your virtualization needs. VirtualBox is not as well performance optimized, nor as well system integrated, nor as stable. Previously mentioned quickemu is a good way to get MacOS running.
