The ice groans underfoot as you cross the lake towards the shrine. Candles sit atop the ornate sarcophagus, each a request for protection from the evils of the world.
Legends hold that a great hero named Réaltín was buried beneath the shrine, and that the lake froze forever when she was laid to rest. Many of the locals believe that Réaltín still watches over the valley.

Hi folks!
This map was partially inspired by a scene in Kingdom, a show I recommend whole-heartedly if you have any remote interest in period dramas or zombies. It manages to make the undead feel like a genuine threat in a way a lot of zombie fiction fails to, while also having a compelling political narrative.
I've provided variants for the fractured ice around the shrine, but also tiles for the broken ice so you can place them when and where you'd like to better reflect the events that might unfold on the map.
There's also a variant without the sword in the tomb, though the idea behind the sword was that it was responsible for the freezing of the lake. If you'd like a name for the sword, I personally am fond of Sioc, the Irish for 'frost'.
I hope you like it!
As we come into March I just wanted to warn you all that this is my last month in the USA, so towards the end of the month I'll likely be taking a little time off to spend with my fiancé, and then it'll likely take me a couple of days to get settled back in Ireland. Once that's done, though, it'll be back to the grindstone - I still plan on releasing 5 maps this month, but if I don't manage to do that for the aforementioned reasons, please bear with me!

My maps are made with assets from Forgotten Adventures and AoA (bolstered with assets of my own making here and there), and they usually come with day/night, edited/unedited, and light/lightless variants, plus JPEGs, WebPs with transparent backgrounds, and UVTT (DD2VTT) files for Foundry VTT if the map features buildings or interiors.
