The smell is rancid, but you brace yourself as you climb down the ladder.
The city's ancient sewer system is unlike anything you've ever seen, built for a once-thriving capital. In the wake of war, famine, and plague, the sewers now cater to a diminished population, and serve as a perfect nesting ground for rats and far more sinister things.

This map comes with a simple sewer variant, a rat's nest for the classic Level One adventure, a monster's den variant of the rat's nest, and a secret vampire's lair behind the walls. I've also included WebP files for the variants so you can pull them into your VTT at a moment's notice, and a wall section you can use to conceal the entrance to the nest/den if you're not using the default sewer as your base.
I've been meaning to work on a sewer map for some time, but every time I started, I would get intimidated and work on something else instead (and it doesn't help that fantasy sewers don't really make any sense, which makes it even harder to figure out them out). Eventually, I decided to just go for it and see what happens - I hope you like it!

My maps are made with assets from Forgotten Adventures and AoA (bolstered with assets of my own making here and there), and they usually come with day/night, edited/unedited, and light/lightless variants, plus JPEGs, WebPs with transparent backgrounds, and UVTT (DD2VTT) files for Foundry VTT if the map features buildings or interiors.

Right? Barovia has no sewers, because it's so old. But it could be an interesting twist in Vallaki. Big enough city, that maybe over the hundreds of years, they at some point undertook a project for it? Who knows. Or maybe in one of those old 2E Ravenloft versions of Barovia, in the town of Immol...

I think Vallaki is the only place in Barovia is the closest thing to a location where sewers of this size would make sense, and it's still a huge stretch - maybe the sewers are all that's left of a much older and larger settlement? Though, that raises all kinds of questions...
