The cave 20

Webby saves the day! She will need a bath, again. It's almost as if she enjoys being covered in the blood of her enemies.

The one new drawing can be found here, or in the latest archive post, in the Cave folder.

Webster's search continues. No worm is safe until she finds her handler.

Two drawings have been added in the cave folder in the archive. Drawings can be found here, or in this month's archive post.

Evie's back WIP

Evie finally made it back to her quarters. This little guy has been patiently waiting all this time. It will insist to go on the next patrol to watch her back.

This drawing has also been added to the /Sketches folder in the archive.

The cave 16-17

Webster has been following wormsign for days now, but it is difficult to tell whether the worm is in the tunnel the is in, or in one tunnel over. Sooner or later, Webby will get it.

----

Some of the internal appendages have been redesigned to make it look a bit more interesting and functional. This way, things don't accidentally slip out. I will go back and make changes to the previous 2 drawings, to make it all consistent.

Drawings can be found here, or in this month's archive post.

The cave 14-15

As a spider, Webster is an expert at detecting vibrations. Placing her pedipalps flat on the cave ceiling, she can detect anything that moves in the ground nearby. And the worm and Lisa inside it aren't exacly quiet. No matter where it goes, Webster will find it, and she will pull her partner from its cold lifeless corpse. She just needs to find a way to get to it.

The cave 13 (and the pool)

Webster was able to flee the worm vomit just in time. Now the way is blocked, she needs to find another way. As for Lisa, she ended up in the worm's non digestive stomach and now the worm will take her on a bit of a ride. Lena can relate.

Also, the pool drawing got some colors.

The cave 12 (and a WIP)

WIP: "Two days earlier...". Lisa and Webster are chilling at the rooftop pool; Webby likes the water. A summer themed drawing I am working on.

p12: The rockworm has a bit of indigestion, Webster better get out of the way! At the same time, Lisa makes her way further down the worm's body. Here there are two sphincters, one leads to a stomach that will eventually turn her into worm poo, the other leads to a chamber where she is will fulfil a different function (hint, this type of worm is related to the one Lena encountered years ago (yes, she is still in there)). I hope the worm isn't hungry at the moment.

----

Only 1 finished drawing this time, and no variant yet. Soon. Drawings can be found here, or in this month's archive post. P12 is in the Cave main folder, the WIP is the the /Other subfolder.

You have to go for a nerve cluster to take out a worm. Just blindly shooting it is not very effective. Even Webster knows this.

----

I tried to draw cutouts this time, because just the body of a worm or a cave ceiling might not be very interesting.

At least Webster is enjoying himself.

The cave 1-4

Lisa and her companion are tasked with clearing out a worm nest. Rockworms can tunnel through anything and can make solid rock look like Swiss cheese. This causes the ground to become unstable, so they need to be exterminated. Good thing worm flesh is a delicacy among spiderkind, worm flesh makes them go wild.

Spider sign laguage:

These spiders don't have vocal cords, they can't speak, but they still have lungs and can blow out/suck in air through their mouth parts, so they can hiss, wistle and make clicky sounds. Their preferred method of communication is waving their pedipalps around. A properly trained spider carries sensors (the white bands with wires) that track their pedipalp movements and translates that into simple words like "danger ahead", "friend?", "food?", or slightly more complex statements: "human in trouble" or "may I egg?". If the spider is pointing or giving directions, these show up as an arrow on Lisa's HUD.

Spiders are trained to respond to commands by their handler and typically understand their handler well. The markings on their 2 pairs of front legs are for identification.

Drawings can be found in the /Cave folder in the archive here.

One of the things I have been working on. Looks like he found something down there. This might turn into a real story, I am still not entirely sure yet. Also, this trooper's name is Lisa.

The drawing can be found in the /Sketches folder in the archive, although it is just the one here.

Finished sketches

For this time I have refined 2 of the drawings I shared in the last post. I am still working on sketches for the new story. Het spider companion is not in this drawing, but he is nearby, he has her back.

Drawings can again be found in the sketches folder in the archive.

Sketches

A small update after a long period of silence. The past few weeks I have been doing some random sketches to try to get back into it, so here I am sharing a few of these. They are very rough and not part of a story or anything. I might refine some of these in the future.

Drawings can also be found in the /Sketches folder in the archive.

Patreon update

I realized a few days ago that while I keep the discord members updated on my situation, on here I haven't done that at all. Those of you not on discord are probably wondering why I have been so quiet lately and why it is taking so long for the next post to come out.

Reason is I have been unwell for the past couple of weeks. Unwell enough to need hospitalization and surgery. I am recovering, and can hopefully get back to drawing within weeks, but right now I should focus on getting better.

Since I dont know exactly when I will be well enough to seriously draw again and to make up for the past couple of weeks, I have decided to pause billing for the next month. So if you don't cancel, you get a free month. Of course if you (re)join in the coming month, you will still get billed.

Finally, I just want to say thanks for your patience and thanks for your support.

Biolab 2: 12-13

Turns out the mold can digest the sticky foam. Desi is saved! I mean, she won't suffocate at least. All she needs to do is get the mold to digest whatever glue is blocking her airways without ingesting it, and then get it to eat enough glue that she can reach the alarm button under her desk. The hazmat team can take care of the rest. Sounds like a plan!

The fact that the mold seems to be assimilating the glue, rather than just digesting it might be a bit of an issue...

Uppies? The little bot is going in for a hug. Or maybe it's going for something else. Either way, it might be carrying just what Desi needs right now.

----

Just one this week. Lilies will continue as well. I am 85% done with the next drawing, so the end chapter to Lily's story will start in the next few days.

Biolab 2: 9-10

Uh-oh. Unlike the mold, the glue is not breathable. Desi knows this. She also knows there is no solvent nearby. This could be it.

The mold/bot really needs to work on it's aim. Humans need to be alive to be able to give the mold what it wants...

Extra gunk was indeed required to root her in place. In fact, it needed so much that now the little bot needs a bit of time to build up fluid pressure again before it can proceed.

Good thing Desi decided to wear protective pantyhose today. Now she at least has a chance.

Biolab 2: 6

Time for the bot to get to work. With those legs she will require some extra gunk to get rooted down properly.

Sidenote, her office is soundproof; they will probably not be interrupted.

Biolab 2: 4-5

All areas of the base are connected by maintenance shafts that repair, delivery and security bots use to get around, without getting in the way. Usually any nearby humans get pinged when a bot wants to enter a human occupied space. Not this time though, this one just entered the room witout knocking. Very annoying...

First post of the new year. The focus for the coming months will be biolab, and I will finish Lilies soon too. Drawings can also be found here, or in this month's archive post.

Biolab: cleanup crew

If you wait too long to address your mold problem, you have to call in professionals.

The little bot was able to sound the alarm just before it got all moldy. Ah well, there are plenty more where they came from. It's sticky foam guns wouldn't be of much use here anyway.

The troopers are dressed in mold resistant armor, fully enclosed so no spores can get in, and carry a sprayer with chemicals that make short work of the mold. A few sprays here and there and just like that, a whole lab demoldified.

As the mold's lights go out and dies, it changes color and consistency. It becomes more watery and can easily be pumped up into biohazard containers (p03), ready to be disposed of properly.

----

Full size drawings are in the archive. I put it in the biolab part 2 folder for now.

This will be the last update for the year. January will be a bit slower, I have a bunch of things going and next month I expect I wont have as much time available for drawing as usual. By the end of January things should be back to normal.

I will continue working on Lily's story, but I had to take a break from that one.
