Lilies 28-29

Wake up sleepyhead. The goo is back in it's fluid state and excess liquid has drained away into a chamber below this one. The stuff is still slimy and has a sort of skin on top, where it reacts with oxygen in the atmosphere. But Lily can get out now.

Man, drawing transparent slime is such a pain. On the other hand, it looks much more interesting than standard opaque goo, so I guess I just have to deal with it.

Lilies 26-27

Lily has been in there for a while. Time passes. Other lilypads are active at night in the background, perhaps other creatures getting the same treatment? Or lilypads actually feeding?

Then in p27, the plant is done. An enzyme is released by the plant which eventually changes the gel into something more fluid. It will kick Lily out shortly.

Biolab part 2: concepts

Here are a couple of concepts I have been working on for the next part of biolab.

First, there is major Desi, head of security. We've seen her before in Biolab p01 in the security office. She was a tank commander before she landed this cushy desk job. Now her time is spent yelling at her troops, those incompetent undisciplined idiots. In the WIP, the hazmat team is ensuring her that they will handle it, no problem. Surely.

Lilies 25 (and 24*)

It's a good thing the lilypad takes care of it's seed carriers. The lizard has no such concerns, he just wants to see what happens if he pushes her all the way down. He's just playing.

I am also working on some more stuff in the biolab setting, so there is going to be a part 2 to that storyline. This will be the next new story. Soon.

Lilies 15-17

The lilypad tentacles are basically just heavily specialised leaves. Lily can rip those apart easy. Allow Lily to demonstrate.

Drawings 15-17 have been added to the archives here. I added a slightly revised p14 as well. Also, I made some other changes: the seeds are a bit more seedlike, rather than egglike, and the goop is more clear, a bit more like a tub of epoxy resin, and basically functions the same.

Now that Lily is no longer a threat, the little lizard moves in for a better look. It is the first human it has ever seen up close.

Don't worry, Lily's got this.

Detail: some tentacles come with seeds attached to the stem. Once a suitable place is found to deposit them, the stem vibrates significantly to unstick the seeds. This can take quite some time.

Lily: "No. Muy facil"

Looks like this critter has more similarities to the terrestrial horned lizard than just its name and good looks. Projectile crying can be a useful defense mechanism.

Lilies 1-2

Lily ditches her drones, in favour of an LMG.

With this, Lily's story starts for real. I have a pretty good idea of what's going to happen in the first 13 drawings, still working on the rest.

The angry little guy here is a horned lizard (no relation). These are a distant cousin of the snow lizard, preferring grass- and wetlands over snow covered mountains.

Alpha is relatively soft and squishy. While it is a bit weak to cutting and piercing damage, it can squeeze its juicy thicc abdomen through smaller openings. Very useful for getting into and out of trouble. The end.

Lily's back

Another concept of Lily.

She carries a backpack with semi-autonomous kamikaze drones. Grenade drones are launched from the back. Flight is achieved by 2 contrarotating propellers attached at the top of the grenade., they fold out when the drone is a few meters away from the launcher.

Drones can be controlled manually using the forearm computer, or set to seek out any critters in a certain radius, and take em out on its own. If a critter is caught out in the open, the grenade ca...

Another intro drawing of Lily. The critter here is a constrictor, it wrestles its prey down until it is too tired to fight back. Feeding or egging follows, depending on the prey and the mood of the constrictor.

I might want to do a proper story with this one, I kind of like the idea of a wrestling match.

New story concept

I am working on a new story, since ARP is coming to an end. This character is final. She will be the next one to take on this planet's wildlife. A tattood axe wielding hunter, perfect. She needs a name, but other than that, I very much like her design and choice of weapons.

As for the setting, I think it is time for a plant based story, so this is the first thing I came up with.

Small update this time. See this as the introduction to the final chapter of the story. I'm trying to get the ending to work and I think there are 4-5 more drawings in this story before we are done with it. In the mean time, I need to come up with a new story, probably with an existing character (or maybe a new redhead).
