today I finished the last code adjustments and packaged Space Journey X V0.8 Beta.
As final test I ran the Krell Space Guard Combat Scenario. My new combat assessment routine announced a 9% survival chance. 3 moves later I was defeated. Seems to work... ;)
So you better bribe them or let them on board for inspection ;)
Tomorrow morning I do a quick play through of the new quests from Day 60 and the publish the Beta in the Beta Channel on Discord.

I just added the last piece of quest code to V0.8! Tomorrow I'll render the full size animations and link in the gallery images.
I'll do some testing of the new quests 13th/14th and should have the V0.8 BETA available 14th July 16:00 GMT.
Not much concept artwork to show, as I mostly coded and wrote dialogue. Hope everything goes well with testing and the BETA.
VIP Early Access 18th July still looks ok if no major issue comes up.

Today I did the second-to-last static NSFW render. Tomorrow I'll do the final one and render the set-up animations.
Then I'll do final integration 11th/12 and a test run on 13th. Beta on 14th and VIP Release 18th is (just-so) doable I think.
Also I added a small help screen for combat noobs (like the mining help).
You can now ask Vigo for tactical advice against the different enemies (Swarms, Krell, Marauders, ...) and he'll give you tips.

working on the quests today. After having done a favor for Krogneath he hands you an item that will start the quest. Won't tell any more to not spoil it.
On the mechanics side, I added a new Mob, the Krell Enforcer (2x Hull Strength, Lvl 4 Mob, Unlimited Seekers). After you stirred things up in Krell Space you'll have to contend with those...

Hi,
today I finished the stories /scripts for the quests and will start coding them tomorrow. A few NSFW scenes are still open, but most are done.
Also, I had to redo the bathroom, as I found out something probably everyone knows who ever held a camera (except for me)... do not have large mirrored surfaces in your scene as they will totally screw up lighting in any which way imaginable....
So I made the bathtub a bit more baroque, still with Eternium inlays and applications ...

Hi,
today I plan to do the NSFW scenes with Seraphine and I created the bathroom for that. Of course the bathtub needs to be made of Eternium for the Princess to be happy ;)
(The gap below the pedestal bugs me, will fix that in the final...)

Hi,
I've been working a bit on the Holo-Deck today. Layering the sprites, the overlays and the lighting for the different elements took some time.
Decided to use a (disappearing) pillar for some of the Holo-Deck settings & interactions.
This whole setup took much longer than expected, but in the end any oversight here will come back to bite me in the end.
Think the scene turned out reasonably well as basis for some NSFW action... ;)

Hi,
today I started with the first NSFW renders for V0.8 (involving the Holodeck). Holodeck activation quest is completed story wise as well (story script, not yet coded).
After setting up the characters I used the assets to make this render.
Won't tell too much of the quest. It allows me to bring in story elements of the Princess without having to revive the old code.

Today I finished the Precursor Junkyard in the new Krell System as the last element of a playable DEV1 Experimental Version. These levels have one new mob, the "Frothing Hiveling". It spawns with 50% chance, heads right for you and detonates on impact. Even comes with Rally Stripes ;)
So keep an eye out for them :) No more hiding endlessly behind those rocks...
Now I'll prepare the V0.8 DEV1 Experimental Version (incl. some economy balancing test) and V0.7...

today I tied together most of the V0.8 mechanics changes and made a Day 60 Start screen, where Seraphine has joined you and you are in Krell Space.
Also added minor QoL improvements to Bot filters (parts, addons) and a cargo loss warning warning if your pod is too large for your cargo.

I completed the planning for V0.8 content today.
I also made some more bot shells, including the Krell Concubine, which I forgot in V0.7 (see screenshot). The bot valuation you see is from the economy overhaul (not fully balanced yet). Bots now tap out at around 3 mil, except for the infiltrator which can be about double.
Also ran into one more (minor) issue I had to fix in V0.7 EA2.
The Release will be posted tomorrow 24th until 12:00 GMT.

- today I outlined the main quest of V0.8 which will be a Holodeck Quest with Seraphine.
- For that I reworked the empty Holodeck into a cleaner setup than the mix & match version in the game so far.

Hi,
while waiting for EA1 feedback and fixing the occasional issue (nothing major so far) I worked a bit on the V0.8 story.
Repair of the Holodeck is one quest and to do so we need the Isomorphic Projector (see image). Seraphine needs to hide out on the Holodeck while we are in Krell Space, so we need a suitable Holodeck program.
That gave me the opportunity to practice boolean hard surface modelling in blender making the projection unit.

I revised the character of Ylyee (who will make a reappearance) a bit regarding makeup & body shape.

Hi,
Early Access Phase One since yesterday is running quite well. Three minor issues have been found (see release notes) that will be fixed compatibly in EA Two.
One issue must be avoided:
- Do not sell complete bot stasis containers in the cargo manager without unpacking the bot (e.g. when they return from the arcade or you found complete bots drifting in space). This will crash the game or cause bot corruption. (Thanks to Sadik for finding this out!)

Hi,
the Beta test so far has uncovered some issues, but all fixable. There was also a continuity issue with uniform quests which forced me to rewrite part of the uniform quest triggers.
Tomorrow I'll do a play through and if everything is fine I'll package the Early Access 1.
