[WIP] DAI: Solas, Inquisitor

[W.I.P] DA:I: Solas, Inquisitor

Back. Work on this skinny egghead resumes.

Recent blender practice has proven beneficial; I was able to customise these models to suit the scene's needs without meeting much hindrance. Good progress.

Next I'm switching my usual workflow, learning new tools and animation methods, in order to become more efficient at animating. It should be interesting and I have no idea what to expect from the end results, only that it'll probably be a challenge to get there.

[WIP] Iron Bull Model

Winner of the monthly poster poll and eventual model release.

I will be attempting to make his model highly customisable, with options from nude to armoured. Maybe flexes also? We'll see if I'm successful.

I'm travelling for work this week, so I will be absent for periods of time. However, I hope to show you a preview of my next animation in the next few days.

[Final] Kimahri Model

Kimahri model has been ported. It'll be available on SFMLab soon.

Edit: Download link removed, small issues fixed. Get the latest version from SFMLab instead.

This original FFX model is somewhat aged and oddly built, so I was unable to fix some of its issues.  Some improvements I've done have been fixing mesh weight issues, adding bones to further animate details and I also repainted most textures at high-resolution.

[Monthly Poster] Character Suggestions (November)

Which character should be November's pin-up? October's character was Kimahri from FFX. As an added bonus, his model's also being properly ported and released on SFMLab soon.

[WIP] Monthly Poster: Kimahri

Nearly completed.

Since the last WIP, I freed him from forearms and torso armour parts, painting skin and fur over them. Fog effects, water details and a better waterfall have been added to the background, alongside a bunch other improvements.

Mainly fixing small details now or any mistakes I notice.

[W.I.P] Monthly Poster: Kimahri

Progress update on Kimahri's poster. Pose and background may still change.

Chosen setting for the poster is the Hot Spring at Mount Gagazet, a holy place to the Ronsos for cleansing. As the new leader of the Ronsos following the Eternal Calm in FFX-2, Kimahri doesn't care to be disturbed when he's resting.

Kimahri's model is effectively ported by now. Armour pieces on this model aren't removable, so I may paint fur over them in a later stage, along with water and other effects.

[WIP] ME: Captain Kirrahe

The second commission I'm currently working on. The commissioner requested a nude ME1 Kirrahe, bottoming. The mood should be passionate and intimate.

I found a base nude Salarian body, modified the mesh for more defined muscle structure and painted the body texture above,  based on Feelinfill's design. Still a work in progress.

[W.I.P] DAI: Dorian, Cullen

One of two commissions I've been working on. The commissioner's idea was for a slow, romantic scene between Dorian and Cullen, with Cullen bottoming, either in his bedroom or office area. I was able to find and import the original office into SFM for this piece.

It's quite near to finished. I'm leaving it still for a few days and come back to it then....

[W.I.P] Kimahri Ronso Model

October's poster character has been chosen.

Kimahri is currently being ported to SFM. I also intend to improve his textures and add more bones where necessary for animators to work with. It's an older game's model, so I will work on it some before I eventually upload it to SFMLab.

Nothing  set in stone for his poster yet.

[Model] Balthier

I've been working on Balthier's model for other people to animate with.

It's still a basic XNALara to SFM port, with only bone posing, but a rig can now be applied (rig_biped_valve_3spine and, alternatively, rig_balthier). It'll be up on SFMLab soon but you can also get it from here:  Edit: Latest, improved version now available from SFMLab.

If you give this model a try, please let me know if you come across any errors.

This was a fun one to animate, tho a lot of trial-and-error was required to loop background effects smoothly.

[W.I.P] OW: McCree

WIP update. I added in the mysterious artifact from the comic as well as a Talon helmet overlay. Also painted in details like hair strands, body hair and general fixes for mesh trouble.

It's close to finished, so I'm mostly tweaking details and colours next.

[Scrap] Fallout 4: Nick, Synths

Something I posed a while ago. Curious, newer-model Synths are running invasive procedures on Nick, interested in his inner-workings.

Scrapped since I'm not sure how to continue it. It's my best draft so far in getting the mood right but a regular poster or a single animated angle would probably be underwhelming. Decent soundwork would also go a long way to bring these mechanical characters to life. So I might come back to this in the future.

[W.I.P] OW: McCree

Double-update, what.

WIP progress on my first Blender piece. Enjoy cheeky McCree. I've also improved poses and begun testing with post-render effects.

It's becoming obvious to me how much knowing your way around a 3D-Modelling software is essential to a 3D-workflow. Enough practice and I could do a shitload of improvements or modifications to anything not up to standards. I'd have to get there first, tho.
