Once again I try my hand at coming up with loads of different variations on a classic fantasy monster, this time the Scottish Redcap!

For those who don't know, redcaps are described as evil little gnomes who kill people and use their blood to dye their signature caps. Sometimes they wield sharp blades or wear iron boots (which I didn't include in any of these save the middle one, whose feet are literally made of iron). I like the last two the most.

MM: Borometz

Been reading Dungeon Meshi (one of my new fav mangas which I highly recommend) and was introduced to a new kind of mythical creature: the "Borometz", AKA the Vegetable Lamb of Tartary. It's a plant with an entire sheep growing from it, who grazes on nearby plants until it runs out of food. And given my newfound hobby of drawing cute caprines, I thought it'd be a great subject to draw!

The Mobile Autonomous Tank 5-30 series was an experimental military robot with a highly sophisticated AI program. Robots in war zones were not uncommon, but most possessed simple AI and were either piloted remotely or paired with a human soldier to act as a "spotter". MM: Random Backgrounds

A bunch of random environmental scenes I made one night when I couldn't get to sleep.

I really like drawing abandoned and ruined environments; there's less pressure to make perfectly straight lines.

MM: Deep in the Ruined City

Been on and off trying to practice drawing backgrounds, and decided to make something inspired by Playdead Studios'  beautifully atmospheric puzzle-platformer games, LIMBO and INSIDE. 

This wasn't done on black paper or anything- I simply inverted the colors in Photoshop. Originally I wasn't planning to; I just hit CTRL+I by accident and liked the way it looked. Definitely will want to try something similar in the future.

Inspired by one of my more popular Undertale comics, an alternate version of Undyne meeting Alphys for the first time, where a mermaid-version of Undyne rescues Alphys after she accidentally plummets off a waterfall into the garbage dump.

MM: Dystopian Mice Gaurd/Leader

A sort of sequel to my previous MM featuring mice in a sort of Wolfenstein-ish dystopian setting.

The emblem on the left is based off of the German legend of a "Rat King", a rare cryptid-like phenomenon where rats would be found with their tails knotted together. Typically a bad omen, but I can imagine a cruel regime like this twisting the rat king into a symbol of unity or something like that.

A little crossover between Pokemon: Sun and Moon and Phineas and Ferb, two shows I have never actually watched all the way through.

MM: One Size Fits All

I recently purchased a new sketchbook with a different kind of paper than I normally buy- 80 lb. toned tan paper, specifically. I liked the look and feel of it, and I can cleanly erase almost any lines I make without leaving behind streaks or indentions. The only trouble is, because of the color and texture of the paper, plus the fact that it's book-bound rather than spiral-bound, it's harder to scan images clearly. I'll have to fiddle around a bit more with Photoshop to make it easier to loo...
