Alternate camera angle in HD of our acoustic live stream performance from April 5, 2020. MUCH higher quality than the live stream that went out yesterday.
We might re-broadcast an edited version of this on YouTube later this week, but y'all get to see the uncut footage first.

For the first time ever, a full SlapperCast episode on video! This first one was somewhat of an experiment—things like lighting, camera angles, and picture quality clearly need some work—but we'll get better at this over time.
A slightly more refined edit of this will go live Tuesday, March 31 on YouTube, along with an audio-only version in all the same places you usually listen to the podcast.
NOTE: I've re-uploaded this several times now because I keep having iss...

Votes have to be in by midnight tonight!

We recorded this episode way earlier than usual since all our gigs this week have been cancelled, and y'all get to hear it first.
I haven't yet settled on a title for this one, so I'll be conducting a poll here for this soon, probably on Monday. Give it a listen now so you'll be ready.
NOTE: The Patreon-exclusive extra material at the beginning of this episode contains spoilers for Star Wars: the Rise of Skywalker. You're welcome.
Cheers,

Patreon supporters, you heard it hear first: our new drummer will be Eric Hughes!
Eric first played with Blaggards a couple years ago, filling in for Mike a few times in the Fall of 2017, and jumped at the chance to join us when he found out Mike was leaving. Eric is one of the best and most sought-after drummers in Houston, and we're beyond thrilled to have him.
This is a clip from one of our first full rehearsals with Eric on January 8, 2020.

A little bit of much needed encouragement for our Houston Astros fans… I'm planning to make this widely available soon but wanted y'all to hear it first.
Here's a quick mix of us playing Bog Songs at this past Saturday's show at Aisle of Tortuga at the Texas Ren Faire campgrounds… this is the big moment when the Astros beat the Yankees and sent themselves to the 2019 World Series.
Mike discovered the big win first as he had the game up on his phone next to his drum...

Here's a funny moment from our rehearsal tonight with fiddler Jeff Duncan, who is filling in for Wes this Friday.
Here we are teaching Jeff a new beginning to the song "Spanish Lady" that he hadn't heard before, and he winds up adding a harmony to it that makes us crack up.

Here is the first swipe Patrick and I took at recording this week's special episode of SlapperCast about our dear friend Jeff Quinn.
Had we put this out at the time we recorded it on February 25, it would have been episode #5 of the podcast. Instead, we decided to wait until we could get Mike in the room, and recorded a whole new episode on Monday, June 24.
During the editing process that night, I realized the first show had a better opening, as well as several other bits th...

Here's a bit of exclusive video from a very productive recording session at Beebe Gunn Studio today, starting work on a new album! We got basic tracks down on four songs… that means just guitar, bass, and drums, as Wes will be overdubbing his parts later.
Songs we tracked at this session:
1) Moonshiner — a traditional song, heavily re-written,
2) Second Worst Girlfriend — a Blaggards original,

Here's the first episode of our new podcast! Just finished editing and mastering the audio a few minutes ago.
We're calling this a weekly talk show, because that's essentially what it is, but also because I understand that not all of our fans know what podcasts are.
This first episode started off as an audio test, but actually turned into an interesting discussion so we decided to let it roll.
SlapperCast will be officially launched within a day or two, but as Patreon ...
