Duolingo hates this one trick!

When my mental health was in the toilet I would wish I could just turn my brain off. It’s like I had multiple browser windows open, each with 100 tabs and somewhere in that mess there’s 5 YouTube videos playing simultaneously but I couldn’t find them to turn them off and it was taking up all my memory. More than anything, I just wanted silence.

Now my brain is much quieter and I’m trying my best to keep the tabs to a minimum.

2x abandoned comic ideas

Here’s two pretty much finished comics I gave up on because I decided they’re actually terrible. Please enjoy my failure so it wasn’t for nothing.

So I drew the 4 panel version on November 1st 2022, I thought I’d take another stab at it 2 years later on November 2nd 2024 (I just looked up the dates, yep almost 2 years exactly).

There is the crumb of an idea there. Maybe I will do it again and finally find the joke on November 3rd 2026.

This was one of the first comics I drew when my mental health started improving. Since then, my grandmother (and last surviving grandparent) actually passed away. She never had a kidney issue and this comic isn’t based on her but it felt weird to post it so soon after her passing.

She was 88 and we knew it was coming so we were able to say goodbye, which is more than a lot of people get.

This comic + bonus panel took 9 hours.
