City W.I.P.

So, I hate sketchup - it's extremely finicky with its tolerences, leading to a LOT of wasted time, but its relatively easy to use, and I'm using it to model a city. Work is slow, but oddly enough time passes really fast when I'm working with it.

The first iteration was scrapped after I put a lot of work into it, but it was a learning experience if sorts as it's been a while since I've used SketchUp, so I started from scratch.

I've got a a plan drawn out and am working on it blo...

another excerpt from the WIP Gazetteer, this time describing a rather unique pub in the capital city of the Korachani empire.

You'll notice it mentions common, uncommon and rare knowledge. This is to incorporate the knowledge into a campaign or adventure without using rules. every system has ways of determining how much a character knows (knowledge checks, intellect rolls etc.) and ...

the Korachan Gazetteer

I've been slowly working on a setting guide specific to the nation and empire of Korachan and have been playing with chapters for the book. After some suggestions I've come up with the below chapters, though am still open to suggestion.

I've been working with fleshing out the social classes over the past few days and am quite pleased with the result so-far. It's strange that I've been working on this world for some 15-years now and have failed to come up with simple cultural aspec...

Make the Nation part 11.5 - voting on the flag.

Taking on the suggestions made in the last post in the Make a Nation activity, I’m posting a couple of ideas for flags, which I’m leaving up to you to decide. Both have slightly different backgrounds and histories.

Atlas Elyden #64 - a History of the Nations of the Porphyri Peninsula (Low-res)

Here's another different map from usual - When writing the needlessly long history of the Porphyri Peninsula that I published a few weeks ago I came up with a lot of different nations and peoples that paved the way for the current nations in the normal Atlas Map, so I decided to do something with what I wrote and came up with this map.

WHAT MAP TO MAKE NEXT?!

I'm looking for a new map to make and thought I might give all my patrons a chance at picking what it will be. I've included a map showing the areas in the poll below - just vote and let me know which you'd like to see, as well as flags and lore.

These are all brand new regions I came up with in a recent brainstorming session and have very little designed for them. If the names and short blurbs give you any ideas, let me know in the comments! The Fractured kingdom does not have a ...

I collected most of the flags that I've done for Elyden so far into a single image. This excludes flags for the Korachani colonies and the states of the Saviud.

Exploring Mosta

I was walking around the countryside with my girlfriend and our mutts earlier on today and came across this little ruin in the middle of a valley, which got my imagination running!

I could imagine a bandit outpost here, or an itinerant wandered taking shelter from bad weather, or maybe a wretched troll guarding a bridge that no-one uses any-more!

If you want to actually see what the real purpose ...

the Wane of Shaping in Elyden

The following is an except from something I've been writing - basically trying to explain the way 'magic' (shaping) is the way it is in Elyden. Flashy magic like fireballs and raise dead and polymorphs are not a thing in Elyden - but why is that the case? It's not necessarily that those things are not possible, but rather, events and have made them unlikely.

Please let me know what you think :)

Shapers have the potential to be very dangerous indi...
