A whole weekend of working in QGIS. Oh lucky me…
One of my goals is to have a topographical equirectangular world map so that I can easily switch to different projections without having to start from scratch every time. I’m using QGIS to change the equidistant conic projection of the atlas maps you’re used to seeing into equirectangular, which is something I’ve been meaning to do for years. ...

As always, here's the high-res version of my latest map, exclusively for patrons pledging $5 or more a month - thank you so much for your support :)
This map includes a new design for the Nullambit line, replacing the thicker line from older maps with a simple dashed line. I think it makes more sense this way as the older version implies that the Nullambit line itself represented something Physical, which is not the cas...

Here's the 2nd of 22 planned Demiurge profiles, depicting the Demiurge Ashterath
Thanks to my patrons' support on this page, I've been able to work with the talented Victor Coviello to bring all the Demiurges to life.
The full-res art (without text) will be posted exclusively for patrons in a separate post to this.
Please let me know what you think.

I'm thinking of some different types of maps I can make for the atlas and was wondering what you'd all like to see, keeping to the same atlas style I've been making.
Some things I have in mind are:
- political maps
- trade maps
- religious maps
- colonial maps
Anything else I can add to this?

The votes are in on poll #4 and we have a tie! As with the last tie, I'll be opening up the vote to all my patrons as a decider.
So, we now have a location in Elyden (area ? 6 in the below map, which I am calling SIX), and the last vote was to determine some details regarding the borders. Area SIX, as depicted on the below map is landlocked and is 'trapped' from the coast by the region o...

So this is something I'm really excited about. I mentioned commissioning art in one of my recent posts and here is the result.
Thanks to my patrons' support on this page, I've been able to work with the talented Victor Coviello to bring all the Demiurges to life. This is the first of 22 full-body portraits depicting the Demiurges - the ancient worker-deities of Elyden.

Here's the latest animal fact-sheet for Elyden, detailing the Monocerous, another creature I've had in mind for the world.
As you might have noticed from the name and the drawing, this is basically a unicorn - I love the word monocerous and anyone can figure out the etymology pretty easily, and I think this is representative of the types of creatures I like having in Elyden - realistic, if not real, creatures, often-times similar to real world extinct giant mammals and especially mamma...

I've been running an activity for my Patrons at the Shaper tier and higher, where they helping me design a nation that will be turned into a new map for the Atlas Elyden. There's still a way to go with lots of voting over what shape the nation and its denizens can take, and you can all take part by switching to the Shaper tier, even for just 1 month, to help out with the voting!
So, the results are in for the second vote, regarding the location for the new nation, and... it's a tie. I ...

Here's the latest map on the Atlas Elyden, which shows two regions - the Technocracy of Saragos and the Holy Gynocracy of Naareth.
I've added a new feature to this map - the airship route, which is visible in the west of the map, along grid B--C1--3, B4--6. This is a relatively recent innovation in Elyden and will not feature in most maps - in fact only 1 of the previous maps I've made will need to have this added to it, though there are a few future maps that will include this.

As some off you may know, patrons at the Shaper tier and higher have the chance to help me design a nation.
I'm going to be putting up a poll ever few days, exclusively to my patrons at the Shaper and Demiurge tiers, with options on what direction to take this new region, including things like climate, government, location, character, etc.
And here's the cool thing - at the end I'll make an Atlas-style map based on the poll results, and will be making the High-res, te...

What's this, I hear you say? Art on my patreon?
That's right :)
Though I've dabbled with commissioning artwork before I've not had the funds to branch out as much as I'd like to. I've been scouring the web for art that I can licence, which is cheaper than commissioning brand new art, and also safer - as I know exactly what I'm going to get as i picked it myself.
The above art belongs to the very talented Satoru Wada who's allowed me to licence his images for use on my Pat...

So after months of faffing about and doing research on the internet I've decided to abandon my original idea of making my own globe from a polystyrene sphere covered in plaster due to various problems.
Instead I've bought I cheapish globe from eBay. There was an unsightly ridge running along the equator, where the two hemispheres were glued together. I sanded this down and sprayed the globe, before sanding it again. I'll do this a few more times to make sure it has an even coat before ...

After almost a year (!) I'm ready to share the follow up to my article on the nature of the Demiurges and their Scions, which you can see here.

Once I'm done with all these, ...

Here's the latest fact sheets for the denizens of Elyden, this one being the balaur, a creature I've been looking forward to fleshing out for some-time.
Back when I started working on the world of Elyden feathered dinosaurs were not as ubiquitous as they are today and there was still some debate as too quite how feathered some dinosaurs were, if indeed they were feathered at all. At the time I was enamoured with the idea of a large dromaeosaur with bright feathers, like a peacocks...
