The cross, or straight punch umphs the power into the dominant hand. A little bit of delay on the hit and follow through frames, plus screen shake enhances the chin busting sensation.

I thought about making a really bad pun, but I'm going to be straight forward with the naming of this series. Took a minute to get back into the swing of making isometric pixel art. If all goes to plan, I will complete the set with 9 mechs. It will be a challenge to make interesting variations. Hope you like it!

Got some interesting designs to show off from the Death Vapor front.
-Working on the design of the main protagonist... Just been calling her Death Angel, but think she also needs a proper name. Her provocative design plays with the duality between chaos and tranquility.
-Background assets for a rocky canyon environment. Made a quick process animation of the main steps of creation. I could definitely get more granular and present this concept in a tutorial.

I made a new Pixel Diary feature for my latest realistic landscape piece. I hope my detailed description of the process can offer some helpful insight, or at least, my snooty pontifications may provide amusement.

Hey folks! Time to touch base with a roadmap for November.
First up, I'll post a new Pixel Diary on my blog. Full of philosophical musings, I'll be detailing the process behind my latest piece, Golden Romance.
There will be at least one Devlog this month with all the latest designs for Death Vapor.
We had a tie in the poll for the next Pixel Minis series, between top down, and isometric. I'm playing with some concepts, and think I'm leaning toward isom...

Nope, not a photo. Look closely and you'll see many hours of deliberate cluster work. Yup, I was inspired to add a new entry into my portfolio of realistic landscapes. I can only let so many beautiful sunsets pass before i am compelled to exalt them with my work. Learn more about the creation process in my Pixel Diary.

I think I can predict the winner, but I'm curious how it shakes down. Based on the winner, I might make a follow up poll, or I might just surprise you with something specific in mind.
Heya, just want to announce a new asset pack, now available in the shop. I expanded upon the tileset from Pixelblog 28, with new animated character sprites, and damage effects. Its got everything you need to start developing basic platformer mechanics.

More updates from the bullet riddled world of Death Vapor.
- Started working on a new environment concept: the dark innards of a flying factory.
- Brief title splash at the beginning of the mission. It's super fast to not disturb the action, which also starts immediately. Due to the repeated play involved in the genre, it's important to cut down every frame of idle time. You'll be able to absorb the text after multiple plays, and you will be grateful it doesn't delay the action on y...
Ahh, feels good to get cranking on the game again. Lots of good stuff coming together.
- Made a little art of the God Lance to get back in the mood. A rare, calm moment in the storm of violence.
- Polished up the platform layers for the cloudscape scene. Wait till you see the 6 layers of parallax in motion.
- The latest iteration of the Frigate enemy attack pattern. Bringing some classic bullet hell to the party.
- Another organic enemy type. These baddies will burst out of ...

Once again, it's that time to share a roadmap of the next cycle. Looks like I'll be plenty busy with consistent gamedev through the month. I put a micro tutorial on the schedule to make sure I keep up that series. A poll for a new Pixel Minis theme will be up later in the month. I've hit so many subjects, not sure where to go next. Any suggestions? Lastly, I left open a mystery slot for some original content. Also, I've been chipping away at some assets to add to my product page. Indeed, many...

That's a wrap for another Pixel Minis series. I'm pulling the curtain at 12 total characters, 6 light side, and 6 dark side. The first gallery image shows all of the characters in order of creation. Additionally, I made a light side only gallery, and a dark side only gallery. I think I did a fair job in balancing the variety of character types, and their color palettes. While many colors are shared, no two characters have the same palette, and each has unique colors in the frame design.
