Love in the Arena, page 75.

Page 75? This story has been going awhile. But fear not, the end is nigh!

Greedy Little Men, part 24.

This page got posted late 'cause I was at the dentist having a cracked tooth looked at. Turned out it was rotten clear through, so I'm headed for a root canal. A bunch of other teeth need work, too, so I know where all my after-the-household-bills-are-paid money's gonna be going in 2021.

You don't save anything by skipping checkups, kids. You're just piling up bigger bills, down the road.

So thank you again, my faithful. My health insurance has ...

Just to be clear, this story is set at the beginning of Happy Jack's career. Laura Waller is still a college student and the Mink does not exist yet.

And as usual, Puppy for dessert. Apparently, Pony thinks what he's doing is "tough love". Which involves tough sex?

Looks weird, but apparently feels great.

It seems none of Herman's friends are dumb enough to not know they're stupid.

The added image is something I meant to post with part 18, where Jan barges into her mom's hospital room. It's Fred Perry's pencils for a similar page, where we were planning to have Jan barge in still wearing the Happy Jack armor.

Nothing like struggling to keep a secret for decades, and then finding out you were wrong.

Some secrets you should take with you to your grave. Others, you should make sure are passed on. Knowing which is which is the trick.

...And Puppy for dessert. Yeah, my porn was harder-core, back in the day. But in the present-day atmosphere of MeToo political correctness and worshipful deference to anything female............

 - I'm not sorry at all. Censors of every era and political persuasion will get the exact same middle finger from me.

"Breeding Asna" is a commissioned story, and the client is a little behind this week - entirely forgivable in the Yule season of the Plague year. 2020, WTF???

But panic not, good readers, for I've got another commissioned story in the works - "Hard Lessons", by my ol' crony, Corman. Enjoy!

This is not the last we'll see of Philomenon Baskerville Reacher. After "Love in the Arena" wraps up, I've plotted out a story where Reacher and his trusty sidekick run a gauntlet of heavies to save a scientist and her vital discovery.

A good ol' pulp thriller, with our hulking hero handing out jawbreaker punches (or generous helpings of hot lead) to deserving villains. Been too long since I did one of those....>:-)

Selling my car, fixing the plumbing, oh, and Yule is coming. A lot to do at Casa Karno - but nevertheless, a Patreon page gets posted. That's why I opted for only getting paid when I post - otherwise, the temptation to skive off to work on "more important" chores could get too strong.

And if there's one thing I know, it's you don't get something for nothing. Not in the long run, anyway.

Jan did not drop from the heavens as God's gift to mankind: She was born and raised, just like the rest of us.

Greedy Little Men, part 16.

Jan isn't a super-hero because she was born with powers, or got lucky: She set herself a goal, then worked hard for years to get to this point.

A _little_ more foreplay might be in order, Pony?

Got today's page penciled at least. Inked version will be in the collected book. And hey, a look at my creative process, yadda yadda yadda.

Herman has encountered fans before. He still finds being hero-worshipped a really weird sensation, but he's getting used to it.

I'm a little behind on my artz (I do more stuff than just sit and draw), so it's unclear if I'll get a Love in the Arena page done today. So just to provide a....placeholder?, here's an old doodle of Herman singing one of his old standards.

Not really a big reveal, 'cause you regular readers already knew this, but this is the first time it's explicitly shown.

The ability to go through old records can turn up forgotten treasures, assets, shortcuts. Literacy was the first commonly accessible "super-power".

Of course super-heroes care ever so much about Justice - but it doesn't hurt that busting bad guys is FUN.

Unlike his predecessors in office, Herman hasn't been skimming the Shikago take, so he has no secret slush fund to raid.

Meanwhile, the Prez is feeling a little dumb: All these years the gov't has been trying to get rid of Herman Orca, and nobody even thought of trying to bribe him??

Old habits and attitudes die hard. When you're fundamentally changing someone's world, it might take some further effort to make them believe it.

And for dessert, the debut of the first Puppy story. I like dogs and horses, so they always struck me as a natural combo.
