PSA - commissions tier hiatus coming!

hi everyone! 

august commissions (the ones done in september) will be the last ones before i close the pledge for a while!

i need to take a little brake from the regular every month commissions to finish up other projects, so after the 1st of september (when the pledges for august will have been charged) i'm gonna close that tier! i'll let you know individually when this happens so that you can change your pledge after that if you wish - please comment here if you'd like me to remin...

hi everyone! there was no wrap up last month because my resources were pretty sparse, and this month has also been A Mess, but two sparse months make for a decent monthly wrap up! so let's go!

i haven't really picked up resources per se but i have made some changes regarding how i organise my work, and there are two things i'd like to recommend that have helped me a lot, especially lately. those can apply to work or studying, not only doing artsy commissions!

hi guys!

getting a new pc is currently on the back burner in case there are medical expenses i need to take care of - this popped up unexpectedly this week. on a plus side, i'm working on a laptop i borrowed and it can handle streaming and recording and that's what i'll be using for now.

this is the first process video! aside from seeing how things appear on the canvas like in process gifs, i captured the whole screen so that you can follow the layers and all the edits. it's not...

hi everyone! over one weekend while waiting for commission replies i had some downtime and decided to do a spontaneous YCH commissions for twitter peeps. YCH means that the pose is predetermined by an example sketch - the name is pretty self explanatory :)

i keep repeating this but one of the best thing about doing commissions is that i'm always blown away how intricate and unique everyone's original characters are, it never ceases to amaze me! right next to one another they look like a comple...

this is a wip of my inside piece for the Villainess art book! i'm doing the cover and an inside piece, and for the inside piece i went with one of my faves. atlantis is a criminally underrated movie.

now i gotta decide if i should for a more realistic painterly approach, or the classic lineart + colours one!

short answer: you probably use “overlay”, where you could be using “colour”, which is a layer mode designed to… well, colour.

overlay applies both colour and value. the more neutral the grey in your base...

first of all, i present you a comission i got to do! she's taken me a while and has been pretty challenging but i am very happy with how it all turned out :) big thank you to the commissioner who's been so patient and allowed me to take my time with this piece! i'll post a process gif in a second. oh, about that...

i noticed we didn't have a poll... um... ever, and what with the amunt of commissions, all personal work i get to do on weekends is very self-endulgent. ...

PROCESS 7

hi guys! here be the process gifs for the art i've been doing this weekend + a commission! i really wanted to squeeze in doing portraits for 8 characters in 2-3 days, so you can see there's way more relying on photobashing and rather messy overpainting on those portraits - especially with the cat. i found this method is ideal if you know your stuff (lighting/anatomy/etc.), don't have much time, and still want to crank out a portrait wih those painterly effects!

hi guys! as some of you may know i opened commissions a couple of days ago (hi new patrons, hi upgraded patrons!), and look at all the babes!

the doubles are the ones where the faces are more or less finished (the singles are yet awaiting their turn), and i think it's crazy how much they changed from their initial sketch form to now!

although next weeks is gonna be busy for me i'll still try to crank out some personal art - i have lots of ideas for the thumbnails for  a pol...
