Lilith has magnetic horns and is our 3rd feline. I plan to make some changes to the base after this, but I am happy with the results.

So a lot of people ask me "Glitzy can I have your neck pattern"? To which my response is I DONT HAVE ONE. I pattern it out every single time because I think it fits my suit style more. If you are working with a bigger and toonier head, you can definitely use this tutorial and then save and re-use your pattern. But for a zip up form fitting neck, this is the best way in my opinion!
Step One: Acquire a good man...
My process is as follows
1) make a tiny version of the shape with clay. Then cut it out and flatten it.
2) Measure the space I want to fill.
3) Scale it up. You can do this by scanning it into a computer and printing it. My software wasnt working so I just copied the shape using measurements.
Sometimes this method helps without any math, just seeing the shape flattened can help you get a better handle on how to get the shapes your after.
Sometimes tape and paper arent cutting it. Try this to save paper and get more dyanic shapes that fit in and cover everything. Part Two is here.

This works great for gently picking seams, brushing minky, and brushing fur out of the back of the hair wefts. We keep this around everywhere. You can get one here.

I am so sorry I am so incredibly awkward. In the last video I showed how I patterned a bit of sunnis hair, that post is here. Here I am brushing it out with a file cleaner brush- get one here or you can use a basic slicker brush that you can find at the pet store!

Use masking tape to make a canvas over the eyes. Carefully draw the shape you want and then transfer it to stiffened felt. I use adhesive felt and peel the adhesive part off. This is a force of habit and you can use regular felt.

So we pattern the inside of the faces with Crayola washable marker and them wash before for the following reasons:
1. With so many projects flying around a small space, we don't want to risk getting Sharpie on their fur .
2.very rarely sharpie will bleed through the backing
3. Some parts of the neck and body are not lined and look cleaner if there isnt marking on them.
4. Helps release trapped seams
5. Tests durability of bodysuits
6. Washes the fur and...
I cut my foot right before recording this so if I sound a bit off thats why. Exacto blade went right into my heel while recording. But I hope that you can pick up some things from this video.
I am using the Andis 2 speed clippers, and a 7FC Ultra Edge blade.
Hopefully you can pick up some good tips from this quick litter video. Do you guys benefit from these? Should I upload more of them?

I learned this method by thinking about human clip in hair extensions. Firstly, youre going to want to make sure you pattern the back of the head to include the hair color NOT WHAT IS UNDER THE HAIR. So for Mixi here, I have made the back of her hair out of Red Monster /Long Pile fur rather than brown.
Then I have cut a strip of the red and brushed out the backing with a slicker brush. 2022-09-27 22:04:42 +0000 UTC

One thing I've been noticing lately is that all fur shaves differently. Which is why people get so stuck.
To shave thinner density furs like bigzs short shag line. You absolutely must use a 7FC blade rather than the 10 blade the Andis clippers come with.
Step 1. Trace your pattern onto a small square of fur. Don't cut out the pattern yet
Step 2. With a 7fc blade shave with the fur as normal
Step 3. Brush the fur the opposite direction and then shave across ...

Skill level: beginner to intermediate

1. Cut the shape onto the pattern piece. Leave the pattern uncut, and instead cut out a square around it for easier shaving.
2. Shave the fur using a 7FC pr 10 blade and get to desired length. It may be hard to go back and shave later so try to get it as close aspossible.
3. Cut a square of minky (here I used mochi but any will do!) And pin it onto ...

1- no need to pattern the inside of the ear when working with minky! Just glue a square on there and cut down the excess. Leave a small amt along the edge to hand sew the fur floofs to.
2- You can use 1 inch foam to add dimmension to flat ears. I always use flat ears when working on a suit with lots of hair or detail.
Clippers I use:
I use the Andis 2 Speed. Although for beginners most work!

I am working on an in depth look at all the blades I use. I recommend the andis clipper most fursuit makers use. I go over it briefly here.

I feel sir okamis bodysuit is a great idem for reference. As you can see I had to avoid some normal seams due the complex tattoos on the hips.
