Originally I wanted to draw Sharlene in a full backflip sequence, but when I tried this it didn't read well since the action needed to move leftward (away from Billy). Things have been a little weird up here in Seattle lately, since we've been dealing with... you know what. But thanks to your support the wifey and I are able to buy groceries, and I'm able to keep delivering pages. Now we just need to work on getting faster and more frequent updates. Sharlene readies her shot! This scene called for Sharlene laying on her back after a kerfuffle with Billy, but the sequence didn't go that way, so instead, she's transitioning from a backflip into an exaggerated mid-air pose, whipping hair and all. As some of you may remember, I experimented with streaming my process as a reward in the past, but this didn't work out for a number of reasons. Since then, Patreon has incorporated video processing into their platform, so I figured this might be worth looking at again.

Sharlene on a Beam

Working on this one piece by piece. We finally have a glimpse of Sharlene, and she is none too happy. Took me a while to get the gesture of her kick just right. This was tricky, as she had to be balanced on her side, and slumped over low enough to keep her fists bound between the bars of the lunch room table. Now to see if my experiment works. If it does, you should be able to intuitively read this page in a zig-zag fashion, along the lines of the tilted gutters. To be honest, there were probably other, more effective ways to approach this sequence, but this is the idea that stood out in my mind the most. I opted here for more simplistic depictions, and hopefully that helps. The next page should be interesting to say the least.

Here's the sketch for Mi-hee's large panel on page 46. I had this position in mind when starting off, but couldn't figure out what it's called - turns out, it has a name. The Full Nelson! This reverse-head-locky pose isn't something that seems very practical (who knows, maybe it is), but it it's a fun porn power position, and I figured it'd be perfect for Marvin and Mi-hee.

Interesting process with this one. I tried starting out with Envy on the right side of the page, and kept the two close-up action shots together in proper sequence, on the left. It worked, but it felt a little heavy on the right. Instead, I felt this page was important enough to make Envy the center of attention, and placed her in the middle. I'm not sure the action sequences work as well on either side of her, but I kept some of the dialog and balloons over the gutters, so that the center te...

Mostly satisfied with this one, although some of the angles were a bit tricky. I think dividing the page into three panels worked well enough, but I still need to figure out a better way to show the act in motion. The last panel gave us a good view, but it feels a little frozen. Well, there will be plenty of room for experimentation coming up. Hope you guys dig this one :)

Got a fun page coming up. Currently working on the lines, but here's a peek at the sketch work underneath. Marvin went through a few different poses as I debated over how best to break into this sex scene. Ultimately I decided that a nice big cross-section of the penetration would not only suit the the scene best, but would also compliment his face and posture. Ok, so I don't draw this type of thing too often, but I was feeling in the mood for it, so here's a pin-up of Judy Hopps! Been meaning to draw her for a while, plus it's fun to play with body proportions for characters like these. Her head is even bigger than this when I referenced her, but I think these measurements look quite nice.

Here's an update on page 42. In this scene there's a comedic moment where Marvin lifts Mi-Hee up in the air and then positions her in an inverted stand and carry pose, completely oblivious to the gaze of any aggravated onlookers. Although the poses were easy enough to work out, positioning them on the page so the juxtaposed moments are clear and snappy was a little bit harder. Comedy is highly dependent on timing, and sometimes it can feel impossible to see if the results are coming out as in...

Back at it with a brand new page! Hot Shit High continues~ This time with a closer look at two competing babes. Although inconsequential, I worried about making the pubic areas look right, and didn't want to mimic Sharlene's look for either girl. Hopefully I was able to give them some unique representation and provide a little variety for spice.
